I have a group essay/project that is due on Tuesday. The project was assigned like 2 weeks ago. It's these 2 girls and me.

We have to come up with a good argument about how technolojay pushes us further apart and shit. We have to write a 2 page argument about it and have a debate on Tuesday. So we decided that we were gonna split the paper into the three pro points; so each of us have to research about that pro point and write a paragraph about it, then we would get together and combine them into a big ass 2 page paragraph. We agreed to have it done by last wednesday.

HOWEVER

My friend and I (she's in the group too), We've been done with our part and only need the slutbag to send us her paragraph. But the bitch wont answer the 3-way msg or the texts we've sent her. She said she'd have it done by last Tuesday but she is ignoring us. She's read all of the msgs but wont answer. Not only that, but she keeps updating her statuses with stuff like "About to go out" or "Just came back from the mall!" Or "I want to go shopping! Who wants to take me?" or "Bored... Text me if you wanna hang out ;)"

 

Like what bitch? We're over here stressing over this shit because it's 10% of our final grade and you over there whoring like a whore?

 

So what would you do or more like what should we do? Maybe you should do that, and if that doesn't work, see if you can finish the project and claim the credit without her and tell her you will take that route if she does not do her part.

If she still doesn't respond, what I would suggest is telling the teacher what happened in a way that you think wouldn't affect the other person as much (Ã bet she had her reasons", "Maybe she can be given another chance," etc, but thats just me thinking nicely as usual lol)

Or you could tell her to talk with the teacher personally if you don't want to get your hands dirty..

 

Still, try to take things easy and try to not stress out too much.. If you did your work the teacher should be able to comprehend that and oblige.

I was in this situation before. Our group decided to give the ultimate bitch slap to her by turning it in without her name. She ended up getting no points. Pretty fair since she was going on about not wanting to do it and constantly trying to blame ADD on why she was "so stupid."

So you have no way of getting in touch with the teacher? There's no type of directory that you can use to get in touch with them?  If not, I would prepare the rest of the project just in case, then meet with the teacher and explain the situation

You should just finish the work between you and your friend or ask the teacher to change the due date

If you finish the paragraph with your friend, the day of the debate/presentation the other girl is gonna be completely lost and chances are the teacher is going to notice

That happened to me early this year we had 4 people in our group and 1 guy didn't do anything even though we left him messages so we just left him out.

 

When we had the presentation we just said the teacher that he didn't do anything so we left him out completely. He probably failed the class or teacher gave him some extra work to do.

Well you never know, she might have done her part and not bothered to confirm. Or she's the type to do it the day before. 

 

Regardless, putting a contingency plan in place would be wise. It's better to have a script half done instead of a third, or none at all.

OP, I was in the same boat once.

4 of us had to do a group protect for English in college and like you, one girl did no work, did not meet up with us nor did she answer our texts.

 

We still did all the work, gave her the part that she was supposed to read, then she turned around and said this made no sense, did not read a certain part of it, professor thought we needed another part, (the part she needed to read) and therefore we got a B on the whole project,

Ugh I wanted to say to our professor that she did no work whatsoever but we did not.

 

Like kinky Santa... try to work with her, but if in the end, she does no work, I wouldn't put her name or include her in any debate. You should definitely finish the project and then explain to your professor, not finishing it or writing that person E did no work so we couldn't finish will make you seem irresponsible. It sucks, really but like others said, it's your grade and you don't want to fuck that up over some mindless lazy prick.

I;m not going to lie. You're going to get stuck with people who don't pull their weight on projects your entire academic career. I'm still dealing with this shit in university, and it's costing me my grade.

 

my recommendation. Do the last part of the project between yourselves. Inform her by text that she is not in your group anymore. And e-mail your teacher with a more polite version of the paragraph you wrote out here.

 

Normally I wouldn't advocate something this harsh, but if this bitch is updating shit about going to the mall and not responding to texts or FB messages then cut her off. She may try to give her, probably shitty, part ten minutes before the deadline, but you don;t have to waste you and your friends grade for that
