I watched a music show with Morning Musume the other day and I think they have too many members... they should go down to 9-10 members... and promote the new girls more. and they need a new center too. *I miss Riho*

They need to stop adding members, I still don't know who the fuck the newest girls are

but that's always been the whole point of morning musume. older members graduate onto something better or out of the entertainment world and newer members are added in.

but to help speed things up, the newest members are

nonaka miki (a japanese-american member)

Nonaka.jpg

Makino Maria (she idolizes sayumi and has been a part of hello!project since she was young)

Makino1mar15.jpg

Ogata Haruna (no prior entertainment related business with this member)

Ogata.jpg

Haga Akane (she auditioned for hello!project kenshuusei before becoming a member of momusu)

UtakataHaga.jpg

and that makes up the 12th generation. and i'm sure they'll add in the 13th generation whenever another member of the 9th generation graduates.

wait what? not dissing or anything but akb48 has like 20+ members promoting a single each time plus they're always switching out members in the senbatsu line while morning musume has the same members promoting and they only have 12 members right now in the group. the only time morning musume had a lot of members participating was back in the early 2000s. refer to their music video ai araba it's alright. that was the only time they've ever had a lot of members. during that time, tsunku also split up the group and have them promote in one part of japan while the other part promoted in the other part of japan, hence why there's an "otome gumi" and "sakura gumi" for morning musume for a few months. 12 members is actually quite small for morning musume.

it's hard to promote the new girls more if they're not stable when it comes to singing live plus they don't have a strong fanbase yet. and they do have a new center. a lot of people would argue that it's masaki but i think they're rotating the centers. it's kind of hard to say who is the center of morning musume after riho graduated because at times it looks like it's sakura and then mizuki and then masaki and then ayumi. but i think it's more that they're rotating the centers now.

Ok but Morning Musume isn't AKB. Their songs and type of dance don't suit big line-up so I think they should go down to 9-10 members. Also imo when seeing them on shows, some members feel like they're there but not there at the same time. Not saying they're useless but yeah... I know it's the same with AKB but AKB having lots of members is their own thing, it doesn't mean it works for other groups. I think Morning Musume would be better with less members, and focus on making the members more recognized. I think they should consider making Ogata Haruna as center maybe? She is new and young and kinda cute. idk about her skills but she can improve. She could make the group seem more fresh again and maybe attract new fans and interest. I just think the group needs a new image and a new fresh start.

after takahashi and risa graduated, it was a bit of a pain to watch morning musume on tv shows because they were obviously very awkward. they basically had no personality. it was something that morning musume fans picked up and debated over. they're much better now but still a bit off. i don't think haruna has enough fans nor is she comfortable to be pushed as the center just yet. seeing her perform with the rest, she gets overshadowed a lot. they might just push maria as the upcoming center because she's cute, plus i also see management giving her more solo lines or duet lines with the older members. i'm kind of hoping that they push miki though because out of all her generation peers, she's the one who can actually hold a note, plus she was like basically center with masaki for one of their couple tracks.

Yes I liked Ai-chan. After her graduation Morning Musume slowly went down. I think they can be successful again if they make big changes... Riho leaving (although this made me sad since I like her) and now Zukki leaving too, it makes some changes, but when I saw the group on a show the other day, it still didn't feel right, I think the group just doesn't feel fresh. AKB has this issue too but with AKB it's even more complicated. For Morning Musume they could do some changes here and there and it would improve the group already. They need a center who has some skills, a good amount of fans, and can lead the group. of course it's not easy to find, take AKB as example, they have so many members and it sometimes take 1-2 years to find out who has the most potential (and most suited) to be center. So for Morning Musume who only have a little amount of member in each gen, they don't always have the luck to find someone who has all qualities to be a charismatic center. But they should still give it a try with one of the new girls, maybe the group can be more popular...

Isn't this the second time a generation audition failed to pick new members? :/ Holding off until more girls leave is a better idea..

I think it even might be like third or fourth time even lol. But yes, there's a lot members as it is now, and the 12th gen has yet to stand on their feet. Adding new members now would result in a mess.

i know the point of this group, i've been a fan of morning musume for awhile.  i don't like how they are adding members before the newest members solidify themselves in the group.

Part of what helps the members solidify themselves is the addition of new members though. I remember that until the 10th gen joined the 9th gen was pretty much Riho and extra. Mizuki started to get lines and find her place during the 10th gen's debut and Kanon took until OTT with Erina taking a little longer. I think that when new gens join it lights a fire underneath the previous to improve more and find their place before they're left behind.

Zukki~ :( I remember when a preview on whatever H!P they had airing was shown and she was known as 'mole girl' and/or "moshi moshi" cause of her audition skit.  Gonna miss her!

my 9kis are all grown up!
