P.A.I.N. To be in pain.. This is a question from French broadcast listener Ihsane Ghoulemallah. How does it feel to make a comeback after such a long hiatus? How does it feel to meet the fans again? Kyu-jong It’s been 7 years since we were last on a broadcasted show together, so I couldn’t sleep well the night before the first broadcast. I was so nervous as if I was debuting for the first time. But now that we’re back, it’s so much fun, and I’ve noticed that it really is fun and reassuring to be together with the members. What about you, Young-saeng?Heo Young-saeng It was my first official appearance since my military service, but to be honest, I wasn’t all that nervous. I thought it was the same old stage and the same old things I used to do. But when I actually got to the TV station and went on the stage, I noticed that a lot has changed. Something definitely feels different from before. So it’s been tough readjusting, and it’s made me somewhat nervous. Kyu-jong Right. Hyung-jun But it’s great to meet the fans again. Kyu-jong Many people have asked us the question. Even my acquaintances get asked why we changed our group’s name to 301 instead of coming back as SS501. So what is the reason? Tell us, SS301’s leader Young-saeng.Young-saeng We really wanted to come back as 501, but unfortunately, two other members of the group had to start their military services before I was discharged. So we figured since it’ll be a long while before all five of us could be on stage together again, the three of us should show to our fans that SS501 will always be together. And we wanted to do it quickly, so the three of us met and talked with each other a lot. This is from listener Nguyen Hoang Mai of Vietnam. What was the most memorable thing that happened while getting ready for the comeback? Hyung-jun Everything was memorable, really. But it’s been so long that everything seemed fun and new. Young-saeng The members and I discussed this a lot while preparing for the album, since we have been away for so long. Doing our best was no question at all, but we thought long and hard about what our concept should be, and if it fits with today’s trends. And in the end we realized the reason and the meaning behind our comeback was to communicate with the fans. I think this album is the first step. With this album, and the songs, I think we’re meant to meet the fans all around the world, as well as through broadcasts, and say “hey, we’re doing well~.†Also, the album’s title is “ETERNAL 5.†Even though it’s just the three of us now, we wanted to let everyone know that the five of us will always be together, and we will all be back together eventually. That’s why the three of us got together, and titled the album “ETERNAL 5.†Arabic broadcast listener Reyam Laith asked: Do you have any plans for a world tour? The manager, known only by his surname Jun (36), formerly worked for the record company as a general manager. He was charged in November of last year for embezzling profits from artists under the B2M label, including Eric Nam, SS501’s Heo Young Saeng, and SPICA. In particular, Mr. Jun signed a contract with Heo Young Saeng for the production of a pictorial and was due to receive half of the profit in return. Instead, Mr. Jun received the payment through his personal account and spent on personal use. Ultimately, the former manager was charged with embezzling about 85 million won (approximately $74,000) on eight separate occasions through September 2014. On May 13, the Seoul Central District Court gave Mr. Jun an eight-month prison sentence for the embezzlement. The court stated, “Mr. Jun used company money however he pleased, the amount of damage was great, and the victims still haven’t recovered.†Eric Nam and SPICA have both since signed exclusive contracts with CJ E&M, and Heo Young Saeng is currently under CI ENT. On May 30, Double S 301′s agency CI ENT shared individual teaser images for the upcoming Double S 301 special album Estreno on their official SNS channels. The revealed images have a sporty feel with Heo Young Saeng, Kim Kyu Jong and Kim Hyung Joon posing with casual outfits while riding their skateboard and bike. The images contradict from the previous album where the members were full of charisma in their black suits. Heo Young Saeng and Kim Kyu Jong are especially attracting the attention of fans with their ′050608′ and ′Triple S′ tattoos which represent the date of their debut and name of thier fans. The album Estreno, meaning ′Debut′ in spanish, will include title punk pop track Ah-Ha and ballad track Shining Star, which will only be available in the CD. As much as the album′s release date was set on the same day as SS501′s debut, the album will be special to both Double S 301 and their fans. Meanwhile, Double S 301 plans to hold a comeback stage for their fans on June 8, which marks the date of SS501′s debut. During the live MEET&GREET, Double S 301 will choose 15 lucky fans per mosaic board to receive Double S 301 photo cards, available only at Mwave. The Top 2-5 supporters will receive a signed mini Polaroid photo signed by one random member, while the Top 1 Supporter will receive a wide group Polaroid photo signed by all the members. Double S 301 will be visiting Mwave on June 20 at 1:30 p.m. KST, so be sure to tune into the live MEET&GREET, only on Mwave!
