The one I played (and loved) was a really old one for the gameboy.

It was literally about nothing but farming. I think you could also marry and have a family.

Upgraded Farmville   except this came before Farmville 

It's good for casual games but it can get boring after awhile because your routines are pretty much wake up -> farm -> take care of animals -> go find stuffs in mountain/mine/fish -> interact with villagers or try to date -> sleep -> rinse and repeat

Why don't you try Rune Factory? It's a more mature version of Harvest Moon
