The journalist fought back, saying that by focusing on the state of women, Sherawat was giving India a bad name abroad.

“As a woman, I should lie about the state of women that’s in our country? So I didn’t lie. I said the truth.â€

there should also be pointed that indians have better English than a lot other nationalities. not the best accent , but they are fluent and the words make sense.

people who appear on television there have something in their head , unlike the americans like kim kardashian.

I am not a women so I can't comment on the subject from her perspective , but if I were a guy in India I would not marry a minor girl.

"This hypocrisy that's there in our society - saying one thing and doing something different. You are telling me that.. with these atrocities that are happening to women in our society - rapes and honor killings.. someone asks me about them and you're saying that I should deny them? That I should lie?

When someone asks me about these gang-rapes that are on the headlines in the WP, NY Times etc. What should I say? Should I lie?... I didn't lie. I said the truth. And I'm asking all of you here - what did I do wrong when I told the truth? I really want to know from every woman here - What did I do wrong?
Women (here) are in this state today -- what if I was also to remain quiet like other women? (and) I let this continue to happen with women?

Do you know the rate of female infanticide in Haryana (a state in India)? A 1000 men to 700 women. They kill them right in the womb. In this country, we pray to a female God and then kill female babies in the womb. And then when I come back to this very country, the press throws rocks at me saying I ruined India's name. How? By telling the truth? It's amazing/ ridiculous."

I ... HATE how people are accusing HER of ruining the image of India... Now you fuckface - the rapists, the honor killers, people that kill their child because it's a female are the ones ruining the reputition of the country. India had a bad image because of the constant rape stories, NOT because someone is speaking out against them so shut your fucking ugly mouth

Ugh these journalists act like she's making india look bad because she speak the truth and the issues that need to be fix about the country? They would prefer she shut up instead or lie and say india is wonderful just to save face? What bullshit is that? Maybe if india fix it's issues with rape and honor killings, she wouldn't have to criticize that aspect of the country. It's those things that make India look bad, not her.

Idk who she was before tbh but I like her now. I respect her for speaking out like that.
