Hana_Yun_Park 109 Posted May 27, 2016 Share Posted May 27, 2016 Hey OH users, I was just wondering if anyone else on here are or were part of the IB diploma progam?? And what do you think about it??? Personally, my school is very proud of their IB program because (not bragging) but we are considered the smartest high schools in the district and one of the best in the state. So our school likes to put a lot of pressure on us and we do end up doing well. But i hate the fact that they put so much pressure on us...and the classes are pretty good as long as you get an understanding teacher. But i hate the EE and also the internal assignments (Don't get me started on the HI) EDIT: I am part of the program...I was just wondering if anyone else here is or was part of the program :P (Sorry for the confusion) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

YNRA 1,082 Posted May 27, 2016 Share Posted May 27, 2016 i was part of it, ended up getting a certificate instead of the diploma. my school was the only one in a pretty bad school district to have IB. so it was like half the school was dumb af trash, the other half was just grade obsessed nerds. i wasnt really into studying but i couldnt stand being in classes with the regular students because theyre so trashy my advice would be get waivers for the test costs, theyre like 100 bucks each i think Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I found that it didn't really prepare me for university, as I didn't take any IB classes that ended up being relevant to my degree (I was only a partial IB student). I think there was a lot of wasted effort put into certain assignments but I also think certain aspects of it are great. If you asked if I would go through it again, the choice would be 50/50...I think I would have liked it more if I got specific certificates for classes versus getting the diploma.
