Korea seriously needs to do something about the suicide rate in korea which is the highest around the world!

theres nothing wrong with seeing a therapist even though theyre against it for some reason which i will never understand, keeping things in dont help no one and leads to depression! i still dont understand why the government doesnt make it their first priority! putting motivational words, sentences not really helping!

they need to encourage people to seek help from therapist etc,, someone to talk too

R.I.P btw

There's not much they can do about it to be honest. They should change the whole country, the whole competitiveness of their society for people to be less stressed and depressed. The article says he's been taking medication for depression for a long time that means he did go to see a doctor. Many times you hear about Korean suicides they say the same thing: they've been on antidepressants and they still killed themselves. Unfortunately antidepressants are not some kind of magic pills that will surely cure depression. It might work for some people, but doesn't work for everyone. Same with teraphy. So even if there was no social stigma against mental illnesses and getting help for them in Korea, I don't think it would change that much.
