i figured it out! haha thanks.

I ended up playing for several hours today with a group of girls. didn't realise cause i'm not on mics (don't have one). they seemed like a chill group. starting to be more confident with the heroes.

soldier 76 is surprisingly easy to use. well...easier than mcree, hanzo, widow. i had fun with him today. and symmetra seems good when defending a map. i kinda just put turrets everywhere and let them do the work laugh.png

and she's good for someone like me who's garbage at aiming. reinhardt seems suitable for me too. it'd be nice to be good at aim intensive heroes because character wise they're all my faves so far

Is better you're playing with persons now, playing with bots isn't very helpful in the long run and not very fun when compared to playing against people.

If you're too afraid of playing with rude people try to make friends or add the players that are nice with you. I used to play with a couple of girls who were pretty chill in the game, most of the time we would be talking, not paying attention to the game and losing but it's fun to play with people like that.

There's also people who have more than one account just to be able to play without more leeway about their SR/ranking, but as you're still learning you don't have to worry about that so just mess around with every character and try to find one that suits you better.

To improve you're game sense; such as positioning, when to engage, when to use ult, etc. you need to play being more conscious and critical about your decisions in the game but if you really don't have any idea of what you're doing wrong try to watch streams/videos of better players playing the game.

For aiming is always recommendable to lower the mouse and in game sensibility. At the beginning it makes you feel the mouse cursor moves to slow but after you get used to you find is easier to aim this way as you would feel it more stable and you have more control over how it moves.

Lastly people tend to play worse when they too mad or too tense so if you're in a bad streak and feel like raging about the game just take a rest. laugh.png

Maybe something between 4 and 7 but you can also try reducing it progressively because it can feel too weird at the beginning, so maybe start going to 10 and then keep going down depending on how you feel.

It also depends on what kind of mouse and mousepad you use, and there is no 'best' sens, just what you are most comfortable meowfaceplz.png  But too high can make aiming harder so like the others said, lowering it might help with aim~

But what dpi and in game sens are you using now ?

I changed everything to an 8.

what's the dpi?

The dpi is related to your mouse and basically is more or less another measurement about the sensitivity. It means 'dots per inch' and too high dpi would also make harder to aim.

I think most pro play with something like 800 dpi but not all mouse have programmable dpi, some just have a button to switch from some pre-established dpi.

So it depends on what type of mouse you have but you might want to play between your dpi and in-game sensitivity until you can lower it to a point you feel comfortable.

Aside from getting used to the new sensitivity you don't want to go too low if you don't have enough space or mousepad to move your hand. If it gets very low you need more space so want to be able to maneuver and do 180° turns within the space you have.

For example I play now with 800 dpi and 4.5 in-game sensitivity but when I started I was playing on 1000 dpi and 10 in-game sensitivity; I got to 7 and 900 and then to 6 and 800 and now I feel very good on 4.5 and I think I'm not getting any lower but this is perfect for me now.

oh my god how do you counter mei and tracer. they're the actual worst.

Mei is good against any slow moving targets with no outs. Best to try heroes who can avoid her short range prim' attack.

I think personally Sombra, while not the best hero is very strong against her. Invis', hack to prevent ice block healing and if things go badly you still have the trans-locator out.

Pharah is very very strong and can destroy her at range. Zarya can also have good success if you properly time you projection barriers to interrupt her freeze.

Any hero who can keep her at a distance and focus her fast. Stick with team as Mei's biggest weakness is multi target fighting.

As for Tracer I don't think she has any hard counters in the game. Most of the time you just have to out play her. A few heroes can do well against her. The Hog is good enough and can still 1 shot combo her.

Genji also does enough single target burst damage to 1 shot her with his primary fire. Mcree is okay and so is Winston and Symm to a lesser extent. Pharah too.

I agree with the person above me, Tracer doesn't really have a hard counter. Symmetra's turrets slow her down and if she doesn't have recall at hand, you can finish her off with your beam. McCree can flashbang and fan the hammer her but you gotta have good aim for that. Roadhog and this hook are effective too but again, gotta hit that hook. Winston can interrupt her flanking your healers with his jump.

Again, agreeing with person above me: Mei tries to single out people that aren't with her team to ice them. Stick with your team and you should be able to get her down alltogether. If you are a healer, be extra careful specially as Mercy or Ana where you tend to stay in the back.

The new map is pretty good even though there's so many doorways and it can get confusing lol.

I'm excited for the summer games to come back up and for us to get new skins and maybe a character.

Also, is it just me who feels like they should keep all of the arcade games instead of selectively picking some? I miss total mayhem and no limits :(
