don't lie to yourselves, shinee is one of the best performers in kpop but how do you rank them? for the best, is it jonghyun or key? and who comes next after them? i'm curious on your opinions  :ohla:

For dance stages:

Key

Taemin

Jonghyun

Onew/Minho

For ballad/vocal stages: (about presence, not vocal ability)

Onew

Jonghyun/Taemin

Key/Minho

Edited to add: my rankings are more a reflection of how consistent each member is in having great stage presence/charisma and not so much on their ability to be great on stage altogether. Because each of the five have had moments where they owned the stage more thoroughly than the other four.

They all are really good on stage, there is no awkwardness at all.

>Jonghyun is really good at using the stage during his performances. He works well with any stage.

>Minho is super confident on stage too, like are you guys forgetting how good an MC he is? His stage presence his awesome, and during performances he is just hot.

>Taemin is a born performer with shitloads of charisma. I think that boy has a switch cuz off stage he comes of as rather adorable and timid.

>Key is another born performer. I mean he looks so comfortable up there. Plus there is all the musicals he does, which I guess is the source of that confidence when he's on stage.

>Onew is a timid one on stage, I guess he lets the members shine. But he stands on his own when it comes to singing. Gosh I love his voice.

(editing after really thinking about it more)

Key

Taemin

Jonghyun

Minho

Onew

Put Key first because I was watching some live performances and realized how extra Key is with everything he does on stage. His facial expressions and everything. Taemin is extra on stage too but not Key's level of extra.

Depends on the style of the performance, ofc it's just my opinion

very choreo focused:

Key

Taemin

the rest

not ballad/not choreo focused

Jonghyun / Key

the rest

ballad:

Jonghyun

Onew

the rest

For me, it's key. i'm biased and I don't know he's just so confident. I voted for Taemin at first place, but that's because he is more of a singer and dance than key but for confidence it's key. But Key really pop every time SHINee perform.

So For me:

Taemin

Key

Jonghyun

Onew

Minho

Key >/= Jonghyun >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Taemin > Onew = Minho

Well this is interesting.. i never thought taemin would rank so high. Tho while on solo, he owns the stage so easily but i initially think he gets overshadowed a bit when he's with the group. I really thought this would be a battle between key and jjong.

i don't think it is a matter of "getting overshadowed"

albeit technically great, Taemin lacks charisma and emotions. he is very detached as a stage performer. there is no difference between watching him alone in a practice room or on stage in a concert. he doesn't connect with the audience emotionally, he is not personally engaging and that's why his performances feel emotionally hollow and lacking to me. i would have ranked him even lower than Minho and Onew but it wouldn't be fair considering the vast gap in technical skills.

Taemin and key are really close, IMO. At any one point, either of them can light up the stage, and sometimes they even spur each other on. Both are born entertainers, but I put Taemin in first place because he has a focus intensity that's mesmerizing and hard to beat when he's totally in the zone. Key knows where all the cameras are placed during filming, and has a way of flirting/smirking with them that delights/cracks me up, and has me saying, "Well, you sexy little shit, you!" The others are stealth bombers, though, and steal my heart during performances at unexpected times. Really, the gestalt of SHINee is what works the magic. Without any one member, the stage suffers terribly, which is why JJong will be so missed by Paris SHAWOLS.

i had to revote lmaooo i did this last night and i thought it said performer not presence in which taemin > for me

presence is key > jonghyun > taemin >>> onew/minho. it depends on what they're doing for onew and minho if i'm honest.

key and jonghyun really know how to work a crowd and their personality really shine on stage, especially their own solo stages they've had. taemin is too timid for me sometimes. i think they all do a good job at not overshadowing each other tho cause there's some groups i've watched where you know one or two are really trying to outshine the others
