.†One cool thing about “Spotless,†the new track that unites the forever starry-eyed Kitty with tough Chicago ladies Sasha Go Hard and Tink, is how smooth and seemsless it sounds. The beat, from Ryan Hemsworth and Little Cloud, has an ethereal glide but also a serious low-end, and it works beautifully with all three rappers. And Kitty, on the hook, has a surprising chemistry with the two harder rappers, playing their flightier foil. Listen below.

lol ... Tom Breihan always seems to be in my headspace... sort of....

 

When i first heard/saw this collabo... i actually did basically think ' Oooh Tumblr Ladies Night' ....in jest ofc. I know he's saying, it's not that, fundamentally haha, and it isn't.

 

"Tumblr music" is real though, and it's not always pretentiously "hipster" ... it's more of a culture and a culture of artists, and it for sure has a sound and style it's almost genre now. It's like "indie music". Indie music is less of a classification these days, and more of a genre.... like there are major label acts with purely indie stylings.

In this instance, you have female MCs from Tumblr culture collabing... and collabing well....

 

Anyway....the flows on this are fantastic....I can't wait for Out of Towners Vol.1 to drop...

Tink, Sasha Go Hard, and Kitty compliment each other nicely throughout Spotless, which is a bit surprising given their distinct and contrasting styles. Ryan Hemsworth and Little Cloud created an atmosphere that highlights the respective talents of Kitty, Sasha Go Hard, and Tink who come together effortlessly throughout the record. Seeing Kitty, Sasha Go Hard, Tink, Dai Burger, Jungle Pussy, Wavy Spice, Angel Haze, and other rappers collaborating and promoting unity within rap is exciting. It's reminiscent of Amanda Blank, Kid Sister, Santigold, Maluca, and M.I.A supporting each other during their respective careers. Looking forward to hearing the remainder of Out of Towners Vol. 1 because Spotless is phenomenal!
