The video shows a street in Shinsa-dong, Seoul on May 24. A still black SUV can be seen in the reflection of the glass as he had hit a streetlight on the sidewalk. Afterwards, the car goes down the road to escape the scene. One witness stated, "I heard a crashing sound and wondered what it was, so I was looking around and the car had hit something." Kangin arrived at the police station eleven hours after to say, "I do remember hitting something, but I had not known it was a street lamp," admitting to being drunk at the time.
