Again, why did Ben Carson not end up as the Republican nominee??

I was just watching some videos of the man and he is obviously extremely smart and educated. I doubt Hillary or Trump could even hold a candle to his intelligence. Why did Republican voters sleep in on him?? I'm not very familiar with his campaign, which is why I ask.

inb4 intelligence isn't very important in politics.

Also, why do you think he endorsed Trump?? Did he have a temporary lapse of judgement or do you think he did it because Trump offered him a position in his cabinet if he were elected (Even though Carson has said he's not supporting Trump because of that)??

Why so? Obv he is experienced and educated in terms of being a former neurosurgeon but I haven't seen him display insight on political issues that makes him any different from the other nominees (if anything I would say he was extremely lacking in experience)

Not a Republican (nor do I side with them on the vast majority of issues) but I personally think Rubio was preferable to the other candidates. Kinda surprised he didn't do better given how much backing he had from the GOP establishment.

he's a really great surgeon but...he's the same guy who thought the pyramids in egypt were built to store grain

also he wasn't good at getting people's attention in the midst of this absolute shitshow. he takes too long to formulate a response in a debate and up against trump, quick comebacks and excessive buzzwords are necessary. even if you have the smartest answer, trump's doubletalk manages to fuck everyone up even though he's not saying much of anything at all

Because he has no feasible knowledge of how to run a country as became evident as his campaign went on...and to which his response was that he would "learn as he goes" which didn't really fly with a lot of people.  Not to mention his strange way of attempting to gain support by sending out a portrait drawing of himself to republican potential voters  :wth:

i thought you were joking when you said he was "smart". Sure maybe in some areas he is but if youve watched the way the guy speaks in the political sense he is no where near that. And after Obama i doubt we will ever see another black/mixed with black/etc president for awhile.

ted cruz was way worse than trump tho tbph. republicans are a disgrace.

the race in 2008/2012 was way better for the Republicans. You actually had candidates that weren't complete idiots running. But in the end this is the state of the Republican party. It's housed all the racist, homophobic degenerates. It's kinda funny to see other Republicans denounce the running candidates

Oh, when I said smart I did not mean smart in the sense that he had amassed great political experience. I was referring to the fact that you have to be incredibly smart to not only become a neurosurgeon but to also become one of the most respected neurosurgeons in the country. That's also why I included the spoiler. I expected people to say that, what some may call "book knowledge", is not very important in politics.

Would that really explain it, though?? I mean, does Trump have that knowledge??

Yeah, the more I see his videos, the more I get the sense that the man's honesty ended up hurting him.
