Chibiusa's Odangos 54 Posted May 23, 2016 Share Posted May 23, 2016 omg i LOVE that manga! but i'm also worried about it because the in hirunaka no ryuusei, she ended up with mamoru and i wanted her to end up with sensei, and her and sensei were actually canon but then they broke up....so i'm scared the mangaka will do that again with this couple. Currently: Tsubaki chou lonely planet, Omoi Omoware Furi Furare, Mairunovich, Horimiya. Noragami also Out of the ones I read semi-recently, Orange. Sometimes i feel like its heading the same way as hnr but i wanna be proven wrong lol when the dude from her class showed up i was like dude no he better not be the mamura i just dont get the point of making readers fall completely in love with a beautiful relationship, then destroying that relationship and forcing a different relationship to happen like the shift from shishio to mamura felt soo forced, but maybe im just being shishio biased if it looks like she isnt gonna end up with sensei i swear to god i wont even bother reading till the end I recently lost a parent too so it hit especially close to home. It seems popular enough i read somewhere on mal that apparently its a hugely popular manga in the west but in japan it had poor first week sales and it wasnt as popular. this is what a user on mal wrote: It's pretty popular in the west, but not in Japan if you go by first week sales, especially comparing to Kimi ni Todoke and Ao Haru Ride. First week sales are what Japanese animators usually look to first to judge whether adapting a manga will be a loss or a profit. And anyway, the popularity between Kimi ni Todoke, Ao Haru Ride etc vs HnR is practically 1:10. Unfortunately, the HnR anime isn't happening anytime soon because it's just not that famous nor does it sell well. Even the mangaka tweeted that she thinks it's not likely to happen.
