What happend to SMs Solo Artists?

Recommended Posts

because sm solo artists are boring, just look at yesung or kyuhyun

sm wasted their talent by giving boring songs

They do get to write or pick the song they like though.

To answer OP , more money and profits. Not to mention, a total package like BoA isn't easily found.

Look at Zhang Liyin, I think she was media played as the Chinese BoA but she ended going back to training for some reasons after debut and then lost the hype.

It's no more era of soloists when there were big names like BoA, Rain or Lee Hyori, look at how profitable idol groups are, there's no reason for a big corporation like SM to produce soloist. Or if there's any one potential they are mostly exported overseas where soloists can sell, just like what SM did to J-min, but now they completely ignore her anw, sigh . I don't see any new true soloist in near future of SM, esp when their idols can go solo just well without being soloist.

Kyuhyun chooses his own songs and producers. he even fought with SM over At Gwanghwamun because he wanted to promote it and SM didn't want to.

Yesung co-wrote and composed his own title track.

it's fine if you don't like their songs or find them boring but stop with the projection. just because you don't like them it doesn't mean the idols themselves couldn't possibly like let alone willingly choose/make them.

well sm were focusing them as groups more now they already hv enough fanbases (for album sales and concert) and they have nice vocals and deserved to debut .

yes its good if they can slaying the charts, but its not their fault if public didnt download or stream their songs.
