i'm really asking (i hope i will not offend anyone by that, just want to hear opinions)

i know that cornrows have a big meaning for black people and there's a reason behind it but at the end it's hairstyle, some people just want to this because it looks pretty for them but if you're not black you're criticized for having it. i think it's not good that other people can't have it and only black people can, i mean technically isn't it racist and there's a difference of equality when it comes to this?

i mean i have never really want to have it but i was always curious about that, especially after that kylie mess. sorry for my english, i know it sucks lol

As a black person, I don't think it's cultural appropriation. Maybe it would be if cornrows had a deep religious meaning in Africa or something, but it doesn't so, nah

I just can't stand it when bitches call that shit boxer braids. Gtfo out of here with cornrows if you do that shit. And when people say Kim and Kylie made them ' in style' I swear I could kill a bitch. Otherwise I don't mind.

wear whatever you want lol i think the majority of black people just cant stand the double standards . i mean you see western media labelling a black person as a druggy or thug for wearing braids conrows etc...

ex: zendaya braids controversy

I don't think so.  I think more people care about the differences in perceptions of certain styles or behaviors depending on what race someone is.

When you think of cornrows, it's usually worn by a black person.  The style itself was seen as unprofessional in office environments and you were considered ghetto if you wore it to certain events.  However, it's now becoming ok and the stigma is being lifted now that white people are starting to adapt the style more often.

Twerking was considered a ratchet street dance ghetto black women did for dollars before Miley did it.  And now EVERYONE does it for fun and they even have twerking aerobics and classes. While some people still consider it classless, overall the stigma associated with it has been lifted.

Having a big behind was bad/unattractive when it was just thought of as a characteristic for black women, but other races now get praised for it and even have surgery to make it bigger. Full lips is celebrated on white women but how often do black women get the same praise for it?

Even the lingo is "ok" once white kids start to do it.  I think the bigger problem is if it hasn't been given the stamp of approval by white society then the value of it decreases drastically.
