Is civilization necessary for survival?

It's not necessary, but it's always a byproduct of human life. Humans need to live in groups (for reproduction needs and gene flow) for the species to survive. The basis of civilization is humans living together, working together, reproducing.

If civilization wasn't a natural thing it wouldn't have occurred in the first place.

Some form of community is necessary for human survival I think...because humans are vulnerable to predators that are stronger than us when alone. Humans are pretty weak physically and rely on tools to become the hunter rather than the hunted...and civilization helps us craft those tools. I believe with no form of civization, humans could eventually become a threatened species. I don't think we would necessarily all die out... But our numbers would be vastly reduced.

The Lykov family of Russia spent 42 years living in a remote area of Siberia, away from human society.

The downside is that there's only one family member left. Contact with other humans is necessary for reproduction ... unless you wanna try incest.  Living apart from civilization is possible, but not entirely practical.

for "human survival" then hell yeah a from of civilization is necessary. Logically speaking civilization is a by product of the natural needs in carrying as a species. If you want to have viable and robust generations then living in a civilization is where the most benefit lies. We aren't like birds, insects, etc that possess flight that doesnt keep them tied in one group all the time

Survive? No, actually without civilization life is more sustainable like the peoples of Zomia have proven often.

Civilized people need to continuously create to survive, and use a lot of resources for this to the point of damaging the planet. However, civilized people have also the potential to fix these issues they cause.

Live comfortably? You have experienced civilization, you will not be comfortable without it.

It's a fact that genetic diversity creates more robust offspring. Just ask the Habsburgs. Being a dynastic house of Spain, they technically weren't cut off from civilization, but chose to intermarry to keep the bloodline within the family - a form of isolation that ultimately doomed the dynasty. Charles II, the last Habsburg ruler of Spain, has one hell of a family tree.

The Sentinelese people of North Sentinel Island in the Bay of Bengal have been living in isolation since at least the 18th century. They've actually killed people who have tried to make contact.
