I mostly enjoyed this latest episode, but I found Hawsa to be a bit...I don't know. she's not uncomfortable to watch, but I still found her difficult to enjoy while the other four guests were enjoyable.  Though Gyeonghwan (or Kyunghwan depending on who is subbing) needs to move on from his catchphrases.  He's a genuinely funny guy and I like watching him on shows, but he can do so much more than just make catchphrases. It gets old.

 

overall, an enjoyable episode, yet again.  look forward to the Christmas special with the baseball player who loves the show.  

 

Heo Kyung Hwan might be popular for making catchphrases, which probably funny for Koreans, but not me. To me he is most funny with reactions and story jokes.

And with the Mystic stock acquisition by SM, he will also contribute his expertise for SM.

 

If you guys don't know which one is him... he's the one that managed to speak alien with Umji. LOL.

I don't know how I missed this before.  Mystic is now partly owned by SM??  they were my favorite entertainment company in SK.  I hope SM keeps their hands off and let them keep doing their thing.

 

SM bought 28% share from Mystic last week. Although not mentioned in detail, it sounds like it's a major share acquisition.

Majority of the episodes since they change to the classroom concept are funny, but one episode that I just can't bear watching was the DIA episode (#44). Frustrating to watch tbh.

 

The episodes with boy groups are usually just okay. You'll watch em if you're a fan, but if you're not you wont find them interesting because the cast are less interested (playfully, not litereally) with male guests unless those they can make fun of, or those can just click with them.

Personally I'm over with the whole singer promoting music comeback on shows.

 

There is actually a good thing for BP if their episode is aired after they done doing promotion on music shows. At least they can keep maintain the hype and allow the public to keep up with them, instead of just disappear after no music activity on broadcasts. We know how YG tend to keep their idols in the dungeon when music promotion ends.

 

 

I think the current situation with BP is because Turbo (Kim Jong-kook's duo) is having a comeback soon or maybe, JTBC just don't want to air too many idol episodes in a row. Personally, I think that's acceptable, since BP is almost finished with their current promotion. Also, the latest episode's rating is not that good.

 

Anything above 4% is considered very good for a cable tv show. You can't compare to public broadcast double digits.

And if you actually check the rating for June-July the only episode that had below 5% was the one with Kim So Eun and John Park as guest, and that was 4.9%, otherwise it's consistent above 5%.

EXO episode was better than expected. There was a lot of materials to work with and the hyungnims seems to be getting along with the members just fine.

 

I think it's more entertaining than SHINee or Infinite episode, for a male idol group that is.

There is also some 'spicy stuff'. KJK brought up the issue on how he was going to get kicked from 'Running High School' because of KHD

Seems like Kim Jong-kook's episode is supposed to air first anyway, cause Turbo just released their teaser. Jang-hoon's in the MV too.

 

BP's episode really is a favor for YG. Weird LOL

From my personal opinion it could be one of a few reasons:

1. YG himself personally requested jTBC to hold off the episode until a certain date.

2. BP was just not in KB's queue of guest since it was actually YG asking for a favor to let BP to appear on the show. So it could possibly air after LJH/KJK episode, or much later.

3. YG did not like how the episode turned out so he asked to cancel it (worse case scenario)

 

but who knows what actually happened.

But Seo Jang Hoon and his ex-wife is now basically under the same company, LOL. So much of trying to avoid her.

and we know Mystic is basically acquired by SM C&C

 

I was re-watching ep.37 and Im Soo Hyang was one of the guest and she mentioned that she's close with SJH's ex-wife so this came across my mind.

Thanks, i'm happy that ratings increased too, it was a good idea to air KJK ep first. Yeah, Korean public shows more interest when any veteran celeb comes.

If they invite Mr.Shin a.k.a Shin Jung Hwan I'm sure it will be crazy. I heard he's making a comeback with a new show in September after his wife gives birth.

Wait - is this legit? I loved him on x-man. He was good, but he got in trouble twice and ran away to Hong Kong or somewhere thereabouts. I heard them finally say his actual name for the first time since then just recently on Radio Star (and Gura likes to reference him). It's he really coming back? He's not in legal trouble anymore?

 

This is very exciting news for me.

 

 

There's some articles from the past few weeks mentioning that he's going to be a cast member on a new Mnet variety show in September. Appearing on KB would be hype AF, considering the cast members still remember him, and he used to be Sang Min's group member anyway.

 

He is quietly living in Singapore all these while with his family and doing ice cream business.

i have rewatched all the classroom episodes from 2016 at least 3~4 times except the ones with jonghyun/irene, infinite, shinee, dia, kim jinkyung/sung hoon

 

2017 episodes i have watched them at least 2 times each except minzy/han chae young, yonghwa/zico

 

i can't really tell which one is my fav, i just really enjoy them all

Now that Kim Jong Kook had appeared on KB, top 3 people I think should appear on the show in the future

 

1. Shin Jung Hwan - Lee Sang Min's ex-bandmate with troubled past but missed by many people
2. Ma Dong Seok - because they need to make it final, who is stronger between him and Kang Ho Dong
3. Cool's Lee Jae Hoon - because Lee Soo Geun often imitates him

 

Just watched EXO's episode. More entertaining than I thought it will be.

no offense to SNSD, but is anyone else just tired of all of the episodes with so many guests?  I wish they would space them out more.  the guys aren't as engaged when there are so many people (with the exception of only the chuseok special, the seollal special was overwhelming) and it gets kinda messy.  it's just not as interesting to me.  I wish that SNSD wasn't happening for a few more weeks.  I get why it is happening now, but I will probably put it off a few weeks before watching.  

 

also, when the guests only have one aired question each (even most of BP with only 4 members only had one question), you can't really get a feel for the guests and that's what I loved about the other episodes.  because this group of mcs is so different from the other talk shows, you get genuinely surprised reactions and it makes it more fun/less predictable.  that's just harder to do with so many guests.  I miss the two guests episodes.  we've only had 2 of them in the last 8 episodes. I need a break from so many people and all of the chaos.  it's just not as much fun.

 

edited to add that the mcs haven't been nearly as savage lately as they have been in the past.  I REALLY REALLY REALLY miss that. 

I agree, Q/A segment feels short when the numbers of guests are more, i want to know more about the guests and their lives but they only get to ask one or two questions. It doesn't feel like the guests get enough time to connect with the cast.

 

Agree on that savage part as well, sometimes i wonder how they'll handle any ep without Soogeun, they're holding themselves back for some reason and its no longer as entertaining as it was before (still fun to watch but past eps were a lot better).

 

Blackpink's ep was nice, Lisa's dance was hilarious, i couldn't stop laughing at that part, Youngchul really improved, he was really funny in this ep, the 2nd segment was okay and they could have done more with that but my expectations were not big with this ep so i was not disappointed.

 

For me, when a large group of guest came, the Q&A section should be at least 3-4 questions per person.

I'm satisfied enough with I.O.I Twice and WJSN episodes

Usually the problem is the second segment. If they focus only on games it will do fine, but if they add skits usually they seem redundant for me.

I think what important is how they manage the balance between time and content

 

Personally I don't really mind the number of guest as long as they could bring very good reaction and can cooperate with the brothers well.

Did the guest schedule changed again? The latest news was saying that Ep.89 will have Taeyang and Mino. Unless someone edited the Wiki page carelessly.

 

 

Which episoddes would you guys recommend? I've been trying to get into the show because I like Sangmin and Heechul, but the episodes I've watched (RV and Exo) make me think that the concept is a bit messy (like in the exo episode, the last game was incredibly boring and it lasted for like 20 minutes). I guess episodes with less members are funnier though.

 

 

you can only enjoy the show if you get all their characters and their inside jokes

you might need to watch from the very beginning i think.

sometimes their jokes take reference from general knowledge or current issues

and they kept on referencing to things that happened in the previous recordings or episodes

 

i think you'll need to watch at least the first 10 episodes of the Brothers' School (ep.18 onwards)

as well as ep 1~3, and 16~17. These episodes will give some background story to their characters.

 

the whole show and their characters actually evolved throughout the time.

if somebody watches KB just for their bias guests, they can't really enjoy the show.

 

Some guest have deep connection and impact to the KB guests like Kang Ye Won, Han Chae Ah, Momo, Cosmic Girls, (overall).

 

Some guests have personal history and connection with the members

Heechul - Jeon Hye Bin, Im Soo Hyang, Seolhyun, Seo in young

SangMin - Kyungri, Lee Soo Min, Tak Jae Hoon, Baek ji Young

Kyunghoon - Solbi

Hodong - kim Jong Kook, Rain

Thanks! I'll try to watch earlier eps then. And yeah, I figured there were a lot of inside jokes (I got the Sangmin-debt ones because there are already tons of them on God of Music lol). I watched RV's most recent episode, not the older one.

 

You need to watch the older RV episode (the one without Irene) I think that episode is a bit more crazy. Then re-watch the newer one.
