no. it's just a way to tell who's actually singing live imo. not a way of truly seeing how well they sing. most are too distorted anyway.

Vocals may also be prerecorded as well, although when I'm suspicious of that, I probably wouldn't bother watching an MR removed video anyways... Actually Idk. I'ma have to pay attention to that in the future.

No, there is a technical reason why they don't work the way they are supposed to work (INB4 the tone of the article hurt my feewings therefore I refuse to use logic). This is the most important (non-technical) element that makes MR Removed videos so popular

MR removed videos have just become a tool for either praising your bias to the skies or bashing whoever it is you don’t like...and reveal basically nothing of insight.

MR removed videos exist because of that sickness fans have of 'my bias sings live' and because others try to hate on idols by saying they 'cant sing live' so this whole MR removed mess emerged. The problem is that it really isn't reliable, it's too distorted and, when it doesn't sound distorted, it mainly is because there's a recording that isn't fully removed or not even removed lol, not that 'my bias swallowed the CD wow slay', because you can't perfectly separate human live vocals than all the jeez audio/sonor effect going around in a stage performance.

Other than that it proves nothing, legit nothing about how nice a vocalist is, it just tells you if they're lipsychronising or not, which is futile to an extent because it's not even hard to distiguinsh if someone is lipsyncing or not just by the actual video, and the fact that they're singing live has NOTHING TO DO WITH AN IDOL'S VOCAL SKILL.

MR removed videos should disappear, that trend should die ngl.
