When I went to Inki and Exo were performing Exo: "I’ll take you in one mouthful like cheese" Fans Me seriously though the song is embarrassing to sing along too, if you don't know Korean then it's understandable, but when you do . I was when watching it. The choreography was so good, and the bridge (Suho-Chanyeol-D.O-Chen's parts) was amazing. I watched it without understanding anything, so I was not affected by the lyric. The first impression has a long lasting effect for everything, so I still like it now. Actually I was more impressed by Wolf than Growl after the 1st listen. Growl took some time to grow on me. Since Gee was the first Korean song I translated by myself and whatever translations you read just made the lyrics sound better then they actually are. Not all of Gee is bad but some parts are pretty "He twinkles brightly, my eyes are dazzled no no no no no" Fixed translation "So much sparkle sparkle, my eyes explode no no no no no" actual translation "I’m suddenly shocked!" fixed translation "Too much surprise surprise, I'm shocked" actual translation "My trembling body starts tingling" fixed translation "Too much excitement excitement my body trembles" etc,etc,etc. Being a Koreanoob I mostly hear literal translations and when I 1st figured out the ones for gee I honestly though " did an 8 year old write this". Hearing that all the time when listening to the song doesn't make me take it seriously, actually stopped listening to the song for like a year. I'm guessing the RDR trans were translated to make the song sound better, since I hear a lot of negative opinions from Koreans about the song, its more popular overeas too. A lot of Soshi's song are actually labeled for being catchy with meaningless lyrics, even The Boys was bashed by Heechul which is kind of a big punch in face lol.
