{DISC} it kinda saddens me that some newer kpop fans see lip syncing as the norm

...because it didnt used to be that way.

It was one of the reasons i got into kpop in the first place. along with the effort companies put into each stage design, the live singing and dancing was something we only had a little of in the US. i mean, kpop acts used to do it every now and then but not as much as they are now. ive seen it more, recently, with girl groups. its like a few members will sing, a few will mumble, and the rest wont even put in the effort.

for me, personally, it kinda irritates me when my favorite groups lip sync. i get over it after a while but whats the point in me staying up to watch you lip sync a performance ive already seen a hundred times? i could just go watch the music video.

i dont know if its just me but personally, over time, part of stanning a group or singer has become watching the performances of my favs and critiquing their lives, looking for improvement. you always want them the get better at what they do. i dont know, maybe im doing too much, but i do honestly wish them the best and it makes me happy and proud as a fan to see improvement.

i can understand if your giving it your all, dancing your butt off and run out of breath, then lip sync a part and come back on your next part.

i can understand if youre performing multiple songs and one of them you lip sync.

but its really disappointing, to me at least, when i see a group in general that i like and i give them a chance but one or a few of the members just seem to keep pulling the same thing performance after performance. i dont know what goes on behind the scenes or how hard they really ARE working, but on stage they just look lazy. especially if the rest of the group is getting better and better, its disappointing/irritating to see that/those same member lip sync their part every time.

opinions?

Yes it used to be

Britney Spears the performer and artist was born in the late 90's, she owned all the pop bitches by lip syncing.

This is how queens and princesses do.

The Queens of Asian Pop should always lip sync, i'm sad they don't, cuz their performances are much better when they do it.

yup. Everyone always says its ok to lipsync if you have a hard dance routine but no. if you are a singer, your primary role is to SING, and dancing should come second.

Furthermore, if you can't sing and dance well at the same time then don't dance or don't be a singer. if you have the stamina and skills to sing and dance at the same time then bonus, my respect went up a level for you. If you choose to lipsync because you can't sing while you dance, you don't have my respect.

And especially at concert, fans pay to see you sing live. If you choose to lipsync, how is it any different to playing their CD at home? But i guess some people are just in it for visuals at concerts.

Like someone said above, first generation idol groups used to lipsync. But that was probably because everyone thought it was hard to dance and sing perfectly at the same time. DB5K changed that, almost never lipsyncing shortly after their debut.

It's not exactly bad to lipsync, but it can be disappointing in some cases. Personally, I don't think rookie groups should always take advantage of lipsyncing because they're suppose to showcase their talents.

lol no, i don't appreciate horrible singing.

if they can't do it, they should not do it.

They're not the best singers in the world and not the worst either. No one is asking you to watch their perfs or go to their concerts, in the end they do put in the effort and not half ass it, I appreciate that.

I like their voices in the songs, i like 2NE1.

But if they can't sing live they should do it like Britney. It's not that hard to get.

Or are you going to give them a chance to see if they get better every time.I tried that with Yuri and i gave up, she is now in the list of the ones that should always  lip sync.

Lol it's such a pity even with their "mediocre" lives they still have one of the best perfs of the night wherever they do. Seriously though they're not perfect but i'd take a nasally performance over a lip synced one anyday, it just ruins the point of a live performance.

You should just stick to listening to their songs and not their lives if you hate their voices so much.

It doesn't make sense tbh, lip sync is not going to hurt anyone.

We appreciate Park Bom's unique tone in the songs, but we don't appreciate her sounding like a goat dying when she performs those songs live,

it's so simple.

if I wanted to watch my favourite group lip sync then i'd just re watch the MV.

As I said before, i'm not claiming they're the best singers and they can go quite off tune but in the end I do appreciate they try their best to sing for their fans.

Listening to kpop from 2009 doesn't make you an old kpop fan.

...i didnt say i was an old kpop fan. in the five years ive been into kpop i have certainly seen a difference in live performances from boa, rain, se7en, and dbsk then compared to now. by no means am i saying i know more than those who have been into kpop say, 10 years, im just speaking from the time ive spent as a fan.

just realized that the newest groups i listen to are exo and btob.

do new groups do a lot of lipsynching? i mean, i know exo does a lot, but i thought they were unique in their dependence on lipsynching any time there's an important event.
