NB users get reckt by AsianJunkie about the Seolhyun-Jimin controversy...

Recommended Posts

I recommed you guys to go read this article, very interesting. He isnt defending their lack of history knowledge, rather criticizing the witchunt taking place and the ifans bandwagon.

http://www.asianjunkie.com/2016/05/14/seolhyun-jimin-witch-hunt-rolls-on-but-politician-professor-say-it-should-stop/

He is taking a stance after the history professor defended them and that part especially got me:

"The main point of the professor was that Korean society doesn’t look good when it hits out at celebrities viciously like this.

The rest of the history professor’s point (and it was a long one if anybody wants to translate beyond rough details) was basically ranting about Korean education (celebrity high school suck balls) and about politics (a liberal scholar, so mainly about Park Geun Hye/Park Chung Hee and stuff). So what he really wanted to say wasn’t even connected to this issue, he just wanted to use a hot topic to go off…

NBConspiracy2.png

…so of course the top voted comment on Netizen Buzz is joking that FNC Entertainment paid him off, probably to take the cue from one of the translated comments.

Was this professor paid off? Just going through nine years of public education means you should know this as basic knowledge.

Remember, the company who didn’t have the power to prevent this from being broadcast to begin with definitely forced a random professor to go on Facebook and rant about education in Korea and his personal politics that used Seolhyun and Jimin’s issue as a tangential point.

On it.

It says an awful lot to me that the people who are basing their opinions solely off translated Korean netizens without taking the time to judge themselves are the first to jump out and accuse Korean politicians and professors defending Seolhyun and Jimin as crazy or shills. Surely their logic (that relies on appeal to authority) would place those two on a higher platform than mouthbreathing comment sections, no? After all, if you are going to “stay in your lane†over and over and just take the word of random netizens on this issue, then why not do the same when actual educated people speak on it as well? Ah, but I guess that doesn’t fit the narrative people want, after all."

I said the same thing in the NB thread so I definitely agree.

In a desperate attempt to not seem foolish on the international stage, because two korean singer iare bad at korean history, knetz have made themselves look even more foolish by attacking them.

The main point of the professor was that Korean society doesn’t look good when it hits out at celebrities viciously like this.

Honestly, this is the most important point. Alot of Koreans seemed to think that Seolhyun and Jimin embarrassed Korea, when internationally speaking, the reaction to this "controversy" is much more of an embarrassment.

the comments on that NB article were disgusting. Someone even called this professor Seolhyun's sponsor.

Other people were criticizing them without even watching the clip. If you are going to drag someone please inform yourself about what you are about to drag them for.

I have to agree with that professor on how ugly Korean society looks every time they do this witch hunting to a celebrity.

EDIT: bc I just see someone on this thread not even reading the AJ post and making arguments about why it is not valid like I said above if you are going to criticize anything please take two seconds to inform yourself on what you are criticizing and why you don't agree with it. If you can't be bothered to actually read something, then don't give your opinion about it...

It happened on OH as well. When the article was first posted (the thread naming him as a congressman), most comments jumped on the opportunity to question the poor man (despite the fact it was mentioned he actually majored in history) and called him Seolhyun sponsor. No better.

Not surprising coming from you since you're part of the bunch he is basically describing, you were even the first to post a shady comment in that other thread so yeah, must feel some type of way after getting exposed. Please educate yourself.

The thing is, some knetz and i-fans are just using this controversy to have a reason to hate on them (because they were hating before without a reason) Now with a "reason" they are overreacting things to make their point more believable (searching Seolhyun past, doubting a professional to make their point too) and all saying "This isn't a witch hunt, they deserve" I know that what they did was seriously wrong but why this make what people are doing with them right? Calling them names, wishing for the end of someone's career... I would prefer be the person who answered a question wrong than be the one wishing something bad for other person.

They did wrong (Seolhyun, Jimin, PD) but they apoligized. THAT'S ALL THEY CAN DO. Normal people would think this is enough, but seems liek they want their blood or something smh

he's right. it's funny bc I-netz are just regurgitating what k-netz are saying without having watched the video. Seolhyun never calls him the Japanese name.

They are lmao I had to post the video in another thread to show people Seolhyun BARELY talked and was searching things up on her phone while Jimin was guessing. This situation is just...I cant lol

While I can't refute the claims that he was paid or is her sponsor (because we have no way of knowing this), I do wonder when all of this will cool down.

But Asianjunkie? The pervs that creep on underaged idols is who use as an example? Okay...are you desperate?

it is ironic coming from ifans to question someone who knows more about Korean history and trying to educate him on how important this issue is when everything they know they probably learned it from google or a reality show.

I have no idea what ur talking about but what happened was, you know its really simple: I happened to find a really really good article talking about a certain situation and expressing similar views to mine. Then I just shared it. Do I need to explain it more?
