It seems like joining YGE is the trend right now as another critically acclaimed actress joins YGE.

 

YG Entertainment confirmed that Seo Jeong Yeon signed a contract with them in early May.

 

Seo Jeong Yeon recently played the role of Ha Ja Ae on the hit drama “Descendants of the Sun.†She has previously appeared in other popular dramas such as “Heard It Through the Grapevine,†and “She Was Pretty.â€

Yang Min suk needs to take control of the music department too when it comes to promotions etc. YG should only be in charge of trainees, deciding who debuts etc and choosing songs, and simply leave everything else to his brother. He seriously SUCKS.

I think it's the contracts. They are still going to get work regardless but maybe the contracts are more favorable to them than at their previous company. Less percentage taken by the company but still offer the same amenities like security and private car.

Except for a few like the two from Cheese in the Trap, most of the actors are veterans and highly regarded. They don't really need any promotions or need much assistance obtaining jobs. This makes me wonder about YG profit margins from the acting department. Shaving a percentage or two from acting and CFs fees does make a difference in the long run. Sometimes I wonder if the music side subsidizes the acting side.
