Why does everyone think tiffany can't sing or dance?

I think it started because she's not the most stable in live performances, which I will openly admit, but to act like she has no singing ability is completely invalid.

As for dancing, if she can execute dances like CMIYC and IGAB, well that's good enough for me since i look a mess doing those.

Basically it's become trendy to use Tiffany as a punching bag. I guess cause she's always so happy and so positive it bothers some people and makes her an easy target for their hate. So stupid

Exaaaactly. SNSD has some hard choreo compared to other groups and Tiffany can typically keep up with it. Most people who say she can't dance are hypocrites cause it's guaranteed by their standards some of their faves probably "can't dance" either

she obviously can follow a choreography as proved by her solo stages in the past few days, but she tends to be kinda lazy in SNSD's concerts and covers it up by being hyper which makes her look...drunk

as for singing, i don't think she is horrible or as bad as many make her out to be but she isn't a smart singer, she doesn't know her limitations and she goes overboard often and ends up embarrassing herself. there are maybe many kpop idols out there who are not as skilled as her but can give better singing pe(rformances because they stick to their comfort zone and don't overestimate their skills.

she has a nice vocal tone and she is not a really a bad vocalist tbh when she sings in her range. She is an ok vocalist

Her Ariana Grande's cover was pretty good

there other girl groups that their main vocalist is not even close to Tiffany's level

To be honest, the IJWD choreo isn't flattering. It doesn't bring out her potential, it just looks like she's following the steps. Lip synching on top of that obviously doesn't help.

technically she's not that bad of a dancer and she's a good lead singer. imo the problem is she lacks sense for those things. she doesn't use what she can do at its best so oftentimes she ends up looking bad when she dances or sounding bad when she sings.

I don't think Tiffany is a bad singer. She's decent, but she does often tend to go beyond her capabilities, and that does make her look bad when she fails to execute it right. As for her dancing, I will say that keeping up with some of the choreo SNSD has done in the past is awesome just by itself, but a lot of the time, imo, Tiffany just looks awkward and unnatural when dancing.

They think she can't dance because in comparison to the other girls in SNSD, she's the weakest dancer. The problem with that comparison is that SNSD as a whole can dance a lot better than other groups. She started out as the weakest dancer in the group so that reputation has unfortunately stuck with her but she has definitely improved.

Vocally, she can definitely sing but she strains her voice often and she has vocal nodules, which messes up her delivery. Her lower range is gorgeous but because kpop places so much emphasis on high notes, she has to strain her voice a lot, which causes her to try to hit notes that are out of her range.
