Seventeen's music reminds me of Arashi

It's amazing how their choreography really amps their performance ten fold and increases the likability of their songs by multiple hundred times.

There are a lot of polished and well-performing K-Pop boy groups but the genki streetdance energy Seventeen does in their stages never fails to brighten my day. I know people want them to move to sexier/darker concepts but imho, this brand of bright/energetic music is so distinct to them I'm almost sorry if they'll let go of it to do the the typical style every K-pop boy group is doing.

Their brand of music actually reminds me of Arashi and how it can cheer people from all walks of life. Their lyrics recently are more into the puppy love thing but I really hope they eventually utilize their musical style into doing songs that has lyrics that encourage people. I really feel such types of releases will just endear them more to the general public as well.

All their songs on their new full album, they said while making it they keep on thinking the fans (Carats) so it's not shocking to me the lyrics of some of their songs would be like more into puppy love type. some of them are still under age so maybe in a year or in their next comeback, they can mature their concept a bit. Not that I'm complaining if they do a mature even some of them are underage. lol

I don't follow arashi, but you mean the similarities is the their bright and fun music right?

And btw who's the girl that they keep focus on the video around 0.22?

That's Meisa Kuroki ;)

Arashi and SEVENTEEN all have that 'happy aura' around them and their music/performances bring joy to everyone.

No problem! yeah she's gorgeous! She's a singer but also an actress. She's married to Akanishi Jin (ex member of KAT-TUN, one of most revelant J-boy group back then), they even have a daughter.

Arashi are like... Super Junior?? They are everywhere in variety shows, and members also act in dramas. Jun Matsumoto acted in Hana Yori Dango (you might know this drama since it's really popular) so he brang even more fame to the group.

Arashi's songs are a mixture of style. It depends on what kind of dramas their single will be used for, too.

Happiness is for Sho and Nino's drama which is funny and light-hearted

I hope if they start to mature, they'll do things like this.  :la:

Kuroki Meisa was in their audience because she was the leading lady in their drama. She is gorgeous.

Arashi=Super Junior? Sorry but I honestly have no idea what SJ are doing now. Arashi is the top musical act in Japan right now & #2 most influential celebrity according to the ranking.

I only know a bit about Kpop so I'm guessing they are like Shinee but older. Both have similar positive vibe. Although Arashi do host their own variety shows, leading some dramas & movies with members having legit acting talents (won awards, etc) and is in the business longer. Shinee have better vocals, choreographies and mvs though.

Well maybe not today's SJ but SJ of 2011 (before this year I think they were considered the top group)

Suju are all rounders ike Arashi that's what I'm saying. SHINee are doing really well in the music fiel but not so much in the acting / variery one.

Is that so? So i was right Suju are no longer the top group for over 5 years...but can't help it since some need to go for military service.

Is Shinee the current top group? Or is it Big Bang?

I don't really know who's who in a kpop boyband who are successful in acting & varieties. Did Suju member has a drama lead hit? I don't keep track of them.. In general like jpop, kpop boyband members are also all rounders don't they? Every group has an actor or variety show host. Shinee did have that one member in the current super popular drama and I do recognize Minho on some shows.

In terms of fluffyness vibe I still say Shinee has a lot of Arashi in them lol.

I think younger groups such as Hey! Say! JUMP, Sexy Zone, Johnny's WEST or even Kis-My-Ft2 (it sounds so weird because they were dubbed KAT-TUN v2.0 predebut) fit OP's description more though  :hurr:

Arashi & other JE groups up to KAT-TUN are now too old mature to have fun & bright music all the time  :imstupid:

If you're interested in genki-styled/oriented groups, there are also many units from other agencies/labels to give a try  :ahmagah:

More so than bright genki music I think more inspirational songs are what OP hoped for. Maybe something like Guts, Wild at Heart, Kittou Daijoubu, etc. Also, HSJ is too cutesy, Johnny West too loud (& very Kansai - not that its bad but its niche), Sexy Zone always has this smoozy host club quality to their style, Kisumai sometimes to cool for school (like kattun 2.o).

TVXQ. They're huge, one of the first legendary boy groups on kpop. Not as big anymore on Korea, but highly respected. In their peak they were everywhere and well rounded. Had the visuals, vocals, variety talent. Good music, stage presence, etc... they're the top kpop group in Japan.
