No real surprise. I'm getting worried about The Shorties. They remain my favorite out of the bunch. And Sam Kim - it looks like he did very good this performance but his pessimistic attitude in all previous episodes and his passing each episode by public support makes me place his performance talent the lowest of Top4. But he is young - we will see. I would like to The Shorties, Benard, and Jinah as Top3. Sam Kim will get recruited.

Have you noticed Sam Kim' experience is similar to 2000won? They were continuously nominated for elimination, but were saved by the public vote. 2000won were in the Top4. I will be very surprised (and disappointed) if he makes it to Top3. He has the potential, but not the same talent as the rest.

Perhaps. However, it is dangerous to support someone who is inconsistent. I rather place my support in a contestant who consistently shows great talent. And both Bernard and Sam are very talented but they really need to polish their Korean before debuting. Jinah and The Shorties have the best chance of being successful from debut while the Sam and Bernard have great potential once they get some training (specifically in Korean). Bernard has repeatedly been told his Korean songs don't match the emotional power of his English song as he doesn't have a strong grasp of the Korean language and Sam needs vocal training.

I think he should be eliminated at Top4. Heck, the first season top4 (Seunghoon ) hasn't even debuted yet but has probably the largest fanbase... I think Sam needs some years of vocal training to match his guitar playing skills so he can be a monster rookie. Right now - I don't see him debuting well as he will get loss in all the other equally talent acoustic guitar singers who do have strong vocals. Jinah and The Shorties are ready to debut, however, with minor training.

I agree. The Top2 should be The Shorties and Jinah. Bernard and Sam can compete for Top3. And I feel bad for the third member of EQ (Kim Kiryun) as he was very talented but didn't have the foreign uniqueness to let him pass by Sam and Bernard. I hope to see him next season. They really underestimated and overlooks his talent.

Shorties will be the winner if the contestants are being judged by skill and talent ... however, the public audience' support is unpredictable. They love Sam and Jinah. And that worries me ... Then again they represent the major consumers though I have bought BAY digital albums and 15& singles. So far not interested in Lee Hi. But Lee Hi is very talented and all deserve to go very far. Season 2 contestants have been very quiet thus far. The young boy is clearly going to be a trainee for a few years and the top3 has released his album without any big media hype. Top4 just debuted. Top5 disbanded with the talented rapper getting recruited post completion of military services and the other two MIA. The little ice skater debuted ( her voice is improving but still too childish). Akdong Musicians will debut soon. Overall, Season 2 had much quieter debuts than S1.

Edit: Am I the only one who got excited seeing Kim Kiryun (EQ) multiple times in last episode? I want to see him again!

Though the age difference b/w EQ was quite large. I think the split between the members was necessary but I would have liked to see how far he went as he had a beautiful voice and great talent with the piano - however, he was early resigned to the spot of the Korean in the middle who blends the two of voices. He never got a chance to show his talent BUT clearly YHY saw something as he gave him the highest sticker during the earlier triad scoring system. Bring him back next season!

PS. I was thinking and I think the contestants should choose Antenna Music. All the other companies have a frightening number of already debuted groups/solos and waiting to shine trainees. They won't get adequate attention. However, Antenna was willing to rebuild their studio for the show. I have a feeling that if the contestants want to gain acknowledgement from a mature audience and don't let the hype of YG or JYPE blind them than they would best be with Antenna - especially Jinah, the Shorties, and San. Antenna would give Sam proper and detailed training.

Perhaps. Though Lee Hi has shot to fame - let's be honest her songs aren't good (lyric, wise) and she would be better off as SuPearl. And YG and JYPE delay and delay their artists and it is on-off whether their artist score well w/ public.

More importantly, they have to decide whether they want to be a musician/singer or idol. To produce good songs but perhaps less popularity (speared by teens) or be a popular idols and loss rights to creativity and prone to mainstream, pop songs. It depends on what they value - neither is right or wrong. To be an idol doesn't always equal musician and comes with some limitations. Of course, when one has an enormous fanbase that idolizes the individual than they are allowed to dabble in their eccentricities but it takes more time than if they started as a musician. And I am pretty sure I am going to get A LOT of flak for saying this but GD is overated to the point of no return. I don't find myself engaged in his music at all. The hype around him is kind of scary and cult-ish. But with that enormous kpop power he can pretty do and say whatever he wants. But that is rare. it isn't always about the music when it comes to the idol industry - any person can realize that.

15& has the unique ability to straddle both worlds: they hae elements of the idol music during some songs and other songs are just pure talent (and less well received because it steers away from typical idol music). It is hard to define 15& and BAY as idols though Lee Hi is an idol.

We agree to disagree. Her music is pure idol music, IMO. And BAY and 15& are like pendulums - some of their music gears towards idol music while others do not. 15& in regards to I Dream vs. Something and BAY Sad Song v. A Good Girl. I prefer I Dream and Sad Song over the other two but the other songs got a bigger response from the public.

And I have nothing against groups that are idols - just putting it out there. I adore BTOB, Block B, BAP, FT Island, etc. And I am pretty sure Youngjae from Got7 and Seunghoon & Jinwoo will easily attract my interest as they appear to be down-to-earth, warm, quirky and just pull my non-existant maternal feels out. ;)

And this is where I stop watching the episodes. I'll watch the clips of the performances perhaps but that's it. Bernard and Sam are inconsistent and really need a lot of training in Korean to go far so they would be a fool to have Jinah be anything but Top1.

And haha... I can't help I've seen Something everywhere that it just popped on. Thanks. And no, I was referring to the whole album which is called A Good Girl. ;)

Sam might be placed in an idol group if he doesn't win as that would be an advantage for the company as he has poor Korean and he's young. Bernard doesn't fit with the typical idol image. Jinah ... I could see her during both (solo & group) but with a group less constrained to the idol image. At least Akdong Musicians will debut in a week.

YG will pick up kwon jin ah 100%, I can tell she is exactly the type he wants for punk pop. I see her getting 2nd because of this.

Bernard / Sam Kim have more chance of working with JYP since YG's boy groups are all full and the open spot is a slim chance of sam kim to team b.

I don't think Antenna will get anyone besides maybe something.

I doubt anyone else from the top 10 get picked up or have any success but The young girls eliminated earlier will get picked up probably.

JYPE is brimming with trainees waiting to debut just like YG. Both have girl groups waiting near the debut date. YG has one boy group on the cusp of debuting while another right by its feet. JYPE just debuted a boy group and another one is right behind it. They both have recently debuted solos and duets waiting for official debut/comeback. Both of them have too much on their plate. And I think there is some Top10 who will be recruited ... It may take time. But I am sure The Shorties will be back in some variation. Almeng like 2000won will be picked up (may take time), and Hanna was eyed by YG for a very long time so I'm pretty sure even if YG doesn't recruit her some else will due to her appearance and trainable vocals. The three little girls if they continue interest has the possibility of becoming trainees. And I'm sure there is others. The one thing about this show is that in almost every season almost all the Top10 (in some variation) get picked up by a company. Even the male tall soldier in Season 1 debuted.

Sam needs to learn to sing well first. All judges mention his guitar skills and "groove" prevent them from really hearing his vocals - but I've heard them and he needs training. And it would be suicide to the group to place him in 5Live or Team B as they are in the finalizing phase and adding a unpolished member would be a huge setback. If Sam debuts with a group it won't be the upcoming. If he is ... God save that group. I have nothing against the boy - he is extremely talented and brave BUT he needs at least another year of training AND Korean lessons.

And I don't see Bernard meshing well with a group right now - especially one so large. Maybe with 1-2 other members. He is the type to overwhelm the group dynamic unless you get someone else with the same power. And while he isn't old - he is still very young - he is significantly older than the 5Live members. They look extremely young/fresh while Bernard has the maturity around him (especially his soulful face).

Yep. I stopped watching last episode. This show no longer interests me at all. I will try next season again - perhaps they will have contestants who interest me more as neither of the top2 interest me at all.

And thank you for the clips of Akdong Musicians. It is all I will watch this epiosode. I will not be watching this episode or the next.

Yep. The elimination of The Shorties last week lost my faith in this season. I like you will not watch Top3 and beyond. The elimination of Jinah just cements that decision. So, just for closure, I will visit next week to see who wins. And afterwards - may all the talented contestants receive offers from companies.

And interestingly enough, I have bought songs/albums from S1 Top1, 3, and 4 and plan to buy S2 Top1 ... but have no plans to buy S3 Top 1 or 2. I would buy Top4 ... and most likely Top3. The only way I see my interest gaining on them both is if they joined a group - though that will be difficult due to multiple characteristics mentioned previously by myself and others.

I hope that "at least" Bernard wins and not Sam!! They're both unpredictable but Bernard is more stable and some of his performances did captivate me.

I'm excited to see the special stages more than who wins next week, though :D

Wishing for one of the shorties' legendary performances *crosses fingers*

This. ;)

We are allowed to express our opinions just like you are. I happen to have liked The Shorties and Jinah' performances throughout the season rather than 1-2 of the Top2. But guess what? You don't have to share my opinions. So please kindly back off with your inappropriate language.

But yes, historically colloborations have either sunken a contestant (BAY, Andrew) or raised them extremely up (Yedam) - no real middle ground.
