thank you

so Brody has made it through again? Honestly, I do see potential in her but she should have left a long time ago. It's not right to eliminate those who were more talented then her. I mean she is cute and all but no...it's a Singing Competition.

It actually isn't a singing competition ... Seunghoon is prime example of that. It is a competition to find the next person who can impact the kpop works. Charisma, vocal ability, public attraction, dancing skills, and wit all play a factor ... However, cuteness only goes unless if you're in a group that has the vocal skills to back it up by another member.

Or well, correction, that was the original intent until YG and JYPE gained so many trainees they are making this into a joke as they have little interest. Only YHY is taking it seriously.

It's questionable if I'll continue. I'm pleased to hear about Brody but I still can't get over the issue that Something is doing so well because of the hype/media play. There is something ;) about them that has turned me against them. I really only like the Shorties - the rest bring know interest. I may continue to keep updated via this thread and if something changes and/or becomes interesting than that could change. I'm deciding if I should watch this episode or not.

And I'm probably just being all dramatic and still will watch but with a heavy heart and a suspicious eye. I still don't trust YG and JYPE to actually try to look for the next Kpop star. They really don't need to and have to manage their own new groups and trainees. I would love to see Kpop Star 4 change YG and JYP to different judges who could benefit from identifying good potential trainees.

I wonder if they are really scouting for trainees since they don't like debuting too many groups during the same and both are releasing two boy groups and at least 1 girl group (plus any others they have already advertised) That is a lot to manage and they probably won't debut another group for 2+ Years. The best bet is if they can go solo so the company can squeeze them in without too much commitment (cough like JYPE did with A yeon).

And I really wonder if Jimin had not won Kpop Star if she would have been more famous as Supearl probably would have been attempted with perhaps more success.

I think it is his addition to Something that makes them so popular to the female populace - he's a darling. He's charming and shows modesty and courage by supporting his partner (during his first elimination). However, he needs time to hone his singing skills and songwriting. She doesn't really add much to the group in regards to stage presence/charisma even when she is the lead songwriter. They are actually way to different to be a cohesive team.

I don't mind Season 3 if it had kept to its goal of focusing on vocal talent ... However it kept people for sensational effect and eliminated good contestants. It is all way too staged.

The only judge I really take seriously is YHY as he truly shows genuine desire to work with and identify talented singers. Plus, he's hilarious. I trust him to not play into the hand of media play as much as YG/ JYP.

And I'm still sore over the elimination of Kim Kiryun (EQ) when they saved Brody. He had real talent and helped Sam Kim out a lot in thr beginning. He was used and thrown out. (And of course Hong Junghee).

They 'eliminate' the contestants preferred by the public to build hype and views. They did that in all other Kpop Star seasons.

And I feel like all the Shorties have their purpose. The one that is slightly less vocally talented than the other two compensates with her personality and stage presence. She seems to often be the team speaker and leader.

Can I say I am actually impressed. Something just didn't work well together. They can be good friends ... but they just didn't mesh well as partners in a group. They did well when they sang an existing song ... but when it came to their own songs as all three judges stated and I believe - it was boring. And while the boy was extremely charming and darling ... They shouldn't pass because of artificial maternal feels. Yongju wasn't a surprise. I'm actually gaining trust in the show again - they are largely keeping people who have talent. My only suspicion lies with Almeng as they may be trying to recreate 2won (or whatever they were called). My interest has been rekindled.

That isn't fair. I adore YHY and think he is the best judge so far as he cares for the contestants and delivers genuine criticism and praise - but even he has his favorites. But yes, YG and JYP like to play with hype and build sensation over keeping good singers. They have shown that repeatedly. We just disagree over the talent of Something. Unfortunately, I see the boy going a lot farther than the girl once they were eliminated. We will see the boy again.

Really? Plastic surgery? I happen to like people regardless whether they adopt to the high standards of beauty set by society. Many great singers did not need nor have had plastic surgery. However, I do not hold criticisms of people who do get plastic surgery as that would be pretentious and idiotic to concern myself over their affairs. And Kpop Star should be concerned about the vocals - I will never support a kpop star who has weak vocals and only looks the part. They can become models or actors (depending on their other talents).

Double Diffuser: You would be right if you weren't wrong. JYP wasn't the judge who assisted them - it was YHY. Don't blame the sugary cuteness on him or YHY. I think it was a fatal combination for both of them - they were casted as the cute older sister - younger brother image. They both has different feels from the beginning. The series cast them in a role they just didn't mesh well with. I am not a huge fan of JYP or YG as I think they don't really care about finding good singers as they are brimming with talent at their agency BUT I think they weren't wrong in eliminating Something. I think the next season should all be smaller agencies as they could use the talent and will try looking for the best best star.

I would suggest learning Korean ASAP if you don't already as the likelihood of being cast increases with proficiency - if you don't already know Korean. And I will be real - the likelihood of being cast depends on you racial/ethnic background. Pretty much all the contestants have Asian ethnicity - I don't see them casting a non-Asian unless they were raised in Korea, fluent in Korean, and/or distantly have a family member that has an Asian ethnicity. It may sound racist - but both seasons have provided evidence to such.

I never really liked them together. I found myself liking them until they became a team. I found myself like the boy' personality and charm ... Throughout the episodes but rarely any of their combined songs. But I do hope they both get more training and experience which allows them to shine successfully on stage - however it may come.

I think Heejun or Almeng is the next to go as even if Sam Kim loses the battle he will win the audience vote as he appears to be well liked. I don't see The Shorties, Bernard, or Jinah getting eliminated - though two of the judges like to add unnecessary hype so we might all see a nasty twist.

I found her gloomy... but not mysterious. Out of the kpop star bunch she just didn't stand out. You can be mysterious... but personable. I saw tiny glimpses of her personality, friendliness, and cheerfulness in the secs she interacted with some of the other contestants but for the most part the image Kpop Star gave her was aloof and gloomy.
