I feel like her vocals are very stylistic.. and lacks power ..

in the beginning of KPOP Star 5 she said she was training hard and shes working on her language skills and dancing.. which lead people to believe she will join the next girl group.. not to mention the fact that she was seen hanging out with Chae sisters and Natty late last year..

and tbh based on JYP's track record her solo career wont go anywhere..

I don't know tbh. If we got to see how good her dancing is and how much she's improved then maybe...

Judging based off her KPOPSTAR performances/other videos available, she's a good singer (and composer). I agree that she lacks power in her voice, so I'd say she'd make a great lead vocalist or depending on how well her training has been for her main vocalist. She does seem like she'd be someone that would have a lot of stage presence if she improved her dancing. I don't really see her being in the group though. She doesn't give off the whole girl group vibe..

Yes, if she was under management that really knew how to bring out the best in someone like her as a solo artist, then I would say that she should definitely be a solo all the way. But Kpop companies are basically idol-group factories that occasionally get lucky with a solo artist, so she'll probably at least start out in a group and then, if things go well, later on maybe branch out into more solo activities like Taeyeon or some of the other successful solo artists that started out as group members.

She was barely 12 in Season 4, so her vocal power and control is only going to get better and better. With good writers and creative, competent and committed management, she could easily be as big or bigger as a solo artist than IU or Taeyeon. But since the idol group formula is so dominant at entertainment companies like JYP (and SM and YG), I suspect that she would just be forgotten about most of the time if she debuts as a solo artist (unless she hits really big right at the start).

She was age 11 when she did her preliminary auditions for Kpop Star and barely age 12 when she participated in the televised Season 4. So...actually her vocal power and control was phenomenal for someone that age (and probably the best for anyone that age in all seasons of Kpop Star). It's only going to get stronger and better as she gets older, so I think the sky is the limit as far as what she will be able to do vocally in the future.

She lacks power? Seriously? She has more vocal power than +90% of 11/12 year old, that's why, besides her visual, she made it so far, when she will be 16/17, we will able to judge but so far she is very impressive/promising and that's why everyone wanted to recruit her.

About JYP and solo, it depends of the orientation.

If it's idol oriented (=look, dancing, upbeat mainstream songs) she can definitely hit big. Rain, Park Ji-yoon were 10 years ago but JYP never tried since then (successful solo artists are more prompt to leave the company once the contract is over, that's why companies focus on group (if one member leave, the brand stays))

If it's artist oriented (not bankable, no idol type promotion) she will have a similar career than other solo artist under JYP, not a total fail but not a total success either. And you know what it's okay. Most solo artists which are not coming for idol groups don't have big promotions and don't hit big right away.

People are just way too much used to idol-like promotion and success but not every other solo artist is Zion-t or IU (in that case we can even argue on her idol origin). Most solo artists have low key careers until they have a breakthrough and it can take quite a long time for some. I really don't think that JYP artists are to be complained.

Didn't the Chae sisters leave JYP this year?
