korean culture never ceases to amaze me. i would say being friends with your ex is quite in most western cultures.

It really depends on how the relationship was. My friend broke up with her boyfriend but they still remained to be friends. He eventually got married and she was invited.

Why, what's wrong with being friends with your ex? You liked them once as a friend before feelings developed. Take feelings out of the equation and you'll still get the liking of them as a friend (unless the relationship turned sour)

That's stupid. I'm friends with those I once dated. Hell, one of them is happily married now. Unless your ex is a shitbag, I don't see any reason not to. These people must have had shitty boyfriends/girlfriends or be really young to say stuff like that. Holding onto that much hate for your exes hurts you, not them.
