Article: Lady Jane "I'm still friends with my ex-boyfriend Simon D, am I weird?"

Source: Newsen via Nate

1. [+786, -124] It might seem cool to still be friends with your ex but there's nothing more pathetic than that... Do you really not have any friends that you have to resort to being friends with your ex?

2. [+663, -24] If it was a mutual break up, I don't see anything wrong with it but I think it's better to cut each other off completely out of respect for a new significant other. It'd be so rude to still call yourself a friend in front of their new significant other.

3. [+397, -46] Yup, it's weird. You were intimate with each other at one point, how can you switch to being friends just like that?

4. [+52, -2] It's possible if you never loved each other

5. [+50, -2] Just thinking about my wife having ex-boyfriend 1, 2, and 3 as her guests smiling in our group photos at our wedding horrifies me.

6. [+43, -4] Totally weird..

7. [+41, -1] You don't do it out of respect for your future significant other... It would make them feel uncomfortable.

8. [+40, -2] The only reason to remain friends with your ex is out of the prospect of getting back together or keeping him/her on tab.

You can tell this person has had all their relationships end badly or haven't been in a long one.

She and Simon were together for a really long time it's hard to just push someone out of your life like that

It's possible if both sides are mature about it.

Why, what's wrong with being friends with your ex? You liked them once as a friend before feelings developed. Take feelings out of the equation and you'll still get the liking of them as a friend (unless the relationship turned sour)

So if by definition above, I'm pathetic :D

I'M PATHETIC GUISE!

That's stupid. I'm friends with those I once dated. Hell, one of them is happily married now. Unless your ex is a shitbag, I don't see any reason not to. These people must have had shitty boyfriends/girlfriends or be really young to say stuff like that. Holding onto that much hate for your exes hurts you, not them.

Damn sweetie who hurt you...

I guess not, if they handled their break up well and have both moved on.

My breaks up didn't end well and I no longer keep in contact with any of my exes.

Um where is your sig from?
