If not a teacher, what about a staff at school? In middle school my counselor was my best friend (i'm still in contact with her through email) and a math teacher who i had in 6th grade that i looked up to as a mother when my mom passed away. High school in 9th grade was my English teacher (she sadly left the school) now i'm in 10th and i still hadn't find a teacher or staff yet :P.
