It seems like every time they have a comeback or prepare to have a comeback something bad happens.

First there was the whole fiasco with their first comeback with not being able to promote 'Booshit', then there was word that G.I. would be having another comeback before Alphabat but I guess the company was still on the high of Alphabat's success (not that Alphabat aren't flops but they did better than G.I.) so they prioritize them and pushed back G.I.'s comeback.Then there was word that G.I. would have a Summer comeback then Aram left and then Alphabat has a comeback out of nowhere.

But maybe if Simtong were better to G.I. members wouldn't be dropping like flies.

Not that I know of. Unless she recently signed with Simtong.

As far as I know Simtong only has 4 artists: Alphabat, Crispi Crunch, Global Icon, and Poppin Hyunjoon (for the longest time I thought Wa$$up was under Simtong too but they are not)

Still no official word but I think she did. She took the GI out of her twitter name and absent for GI's last couple of performances. She also did not celebrate GI's anniversary.

 

Simtong should be ashamed for wasting such a good group.

We got an information that GI (Global Icon) are currently preparing to a comeback! We should get something from them this year but precise date is currently unknown. We also don’t know yet if they will comeback as 3 or as 5 with 2 new members after Aram and Hayun's leaving of the group. Stay tuned and wait for more news soon! (@micchanPL)

And hopefully the new members are as good as Aram and Hayun.

 

I liked the idea of them having an even number of members (either 4 or 6), that way they could have half of them be on the boyish side and the other half on the femm side. That way they could've done a concept like Nine Muses had with 'Dolls' except hip hop style. I think it would help them gain a more broader fanbase as there would be something there that everyone can enjoy and relate to. It would look like a co-ed group but really be all girls. And if they did some type of couple choreography it would appeal to the shippers.

Some part of me wishes Hayun/Aram were in this comeback

[NEWS] 150224 GI will make a comeback at the end of February
At the late afternoon of 24th February it was suddenly announced that GI will be back with the new single album!
After a long break which lasted 1 year and 6 months since their the first but also the last comeback in September 2014 with mini album TREMENDOUS.
On 25th February at 12 PM KST their new song "메아리" (Echo) will be out on the various Korean music websites. It will be GI's the 3rd digital single.
SimTong Entertainment said, "You will be able to listen to a song with a totally new feeling."
Unfortunately it's currently unknown if there will be also MV to this song or how many members participated in this song. We also don't know if it will be a totally new song or maybe the old one recorded with all of GI. We just need to wait to see and listen to the new track of GI!

It basically says 12KST will be the release of GI's new digital single 'Echoes'. 'Echoes' is a mid-tempo R&B Hip-Hop song produced by MonitorPunch (also known as SoundPunch I think), that will win the ears of many music fans. The album was released to give back to overseas fans who gave a lot of love. GI will comeback with a new and more powerful figure in the first half of the year.

Something about this doesn't seem right. It seems like they will not be promoting 'Echoes'. It might be a pre-release single before their actual comeback and album.

GI (Global Icon)'s Aram and OneKet reported to have filed lawsuit against agency

 

Although GI (Global Icon)'s new single release is today, it seems fans are in for some bad news as word has come that some of the members are actually in a legal battle with their agency, Simtong Entertainment.

 

According to an exclusive by Herald Pop, some of the members have requested the agency to terminate their contracts. Original member Aram decided to leave the group last year and is in the midst of a lawsuit to terminate her contract with the agency, and another original member OneKet is now also in the process of filing against the agency.

Member Hayeon also left late last year, but her leave was agreed upon by both her and the agency.

 

It's said Aram and OneKet are asking for their contracts to be terminated due to the conflicts that arose during Hayeon's leave and the delays that came with their album release. They are insisting that it is due to the shortcoming of the agency that such problems have occurred.

 

Simtong, however, are of the position that Aram and OneKet have violated their contracts and that the agency has invested a lot of money into the members' training, housing, and promotions.

 

Their agency told TVReport, "We are currently in a meeting. We will soon release our official statement." 

 

The group is also said to be getting ready for a comeback in the first half of this year with new member(s). Their new song being released today, "Echo", is not expected to be promoted on broadcast according to reports.

I'm just so confused. I thought Aram's contract was terminated long ago.

Without both Oneket and Aram this group is doomed.

 

I also don't think this will become a Block B/EXID situation where the whole group moves to a different agency because the group seems divided. I think Eunji and AI will stay with Simtong (Eunji retweeted the teaser image)

Only one comeback so far which was gi-yeuk. Though they have had a couple of failed attempts to comeback which got pushed back everytime. They were supposed to have a Japanese debut as well but I don't know what happened with that.

The fierce ladies of GI (Global Icon) have released their third digital single, 'Echo', which is also their last single with their original line up of members.

 

The hip hop/R&B track produced by Monitor Punch has a catchy mid-tempo beat and gives off a more pop-driven melody that the public can relate to. This doesn't mean that it lacks their usual charm, but it does show they're trying new things.

 

As mentioned previously, the group is in the midst of working on a comeback with new members, as one member has left the group and two are in a legal battle with the agency.

Yeah it does remind me of 'Because of You.

I don't want Oneket and Aram bound to the company if they wish to leave but I wish this could be resolved and they have a change of heart and stay in the group. That's a long shot since Simtong is counter-suing.

 

I guess I'll see what happens in the end but I'm probably not going to be a fan without Oneket and Aram. Rubber Soul will replace GI for me. I also hope Oneket and Aram acknowledge that even though they're talented they may get blacklisted from kpop indefinitely.What company is going to want to accept suers? The only way I can see that happening is if they already have a company interested in signing them and trying to get them to terminate their contract with the other company. So this could be the last we see of Oneket and Aram.

Simtong reveals never-before-seen GI PV from 2012 amidst lawsuits

 

Amidst the lawsuits flying left and right regarding GI (Global Icon) members Aram and OneKet, who are trying to leave the group and agency, Simtong Entertainment thought it a great opportunity to release a PV that was filmed on February 28, 2012, exactly 3 years ago, before the girls' debut in 2013. 

 

The agency said that GI was currently working on member changes and preparing to show a new side through their comeback and called this video the last video in which the fans could see all of the original members.  

 

The girls were fierce and sexy with their tomboyish style and energetic dancing. What are your thoughts on this story so far and the interesting timing of this video's release?

*sigh* Why must Simtong be so messy. Suddenly they want to release old stuff after a 2 year hiatus.

The girls look great in the PV but Simtong seriously sucks.

I do wonder why those 2 members specifically are suing? Why did Oneket wait until near comeback leave? Up until two months ago she was putting #globalicon in her IG posts. Something recently must have happened in her case.

We will include OneKet in "Thank You" message in the video project (#2) like we will do with Aram and Hayun which has been previously announced. 

 

Time is passing by so quickly that it’s hard to believe that it will be GI’s 2nd Debut Anniversary, soon! 

 

Last year, we were able to prepare an amazing project with a lot of help from many fans around the world. Even though the amount of people who participated were smaller than we expected, we were still able to show our power as international fans! If you’re curious about that project, please feel free to check out this topic.

 

This year, we decided to make it a little easier so that more people can join in on this project. So, what we’ve actually prepared for you is… two project! You can choose which one you’re like to join, just one or maybe even participate in both! Everything is up to you! We decided to do it this way because we think our girls deserve even more support than the last time. After the very sad news about the members’ leaving from the group, everyone suffered greatly – us as fans, but also GI, themselves. It’s even more important to show them that they are not alone and that they still have all of our support!

PROJECT #1: BE COOL! STAY WARM!

 

The first project we’d like to introduce to everyone is a DONATION project.

 

Every one of us knows that the job of being an idol is not easy. They have to spend so much time on their training and practicing to increase their skills, it must be especially hard for the girls and they sometimes suffer really badly. Can you imagine how hard it must be to wear light clothing when it’s so cold outside? How about when it’s raining or snowing? They are in their performance outfits and ready to go on stage, so they can’t put anything on themselves except special jackets or simply…blankets! 

They are a very useful item, not only for their stages, but also for use in their daily lives. Especially if the blankets fit their styles and taste! 

If you think this idea is a bit weird or uncommon, we have some photo examples of other girl groups that use blankets (mostly from fans!) very often.

We will buy the blankets online or (more than likely) in the area of the GI International founder, Mina. It will be easier that way, so that we won’t have to pay for additional shipping costs to get the blankets to the head of the project, who will then send a box to Korea. Don’t worry! You’ll be able to see every photo of every purchased item before shipping!

 

GOAL: 150$

DEADLINE: 15TH MARCH 2015

 

This amount includes the expected price of the blankets and the shipping costs to Korea. Of course, if we’re able to collect more money, we will be able to purchase more things for the girls (like toys, candies, jewelry and so on). We will choose it all together after reaching the goal amount of money for this project. So, you will still be able to donate even after we’ve reached the goal!

 

Oh, but this isn’t the end! Everyone who donates to this project will have an awesome chance to get a little bit closer to GI. How is this possible, you ask?

 

Together with the gifts, we will also be sending a special MEMORIAL BOOK to GI! Thanks to your donations, you will be included in the book for sure! However, depending on how much money that you’re able to donate to this project will determine what benefits you get!

 

Set 1) $5-$10: message containing 120 characters (to all of GI)

Set 2) $11-$24: message containing 140-150 characters (to all of GI), message containing 100 characters (to your favourite member of GI)

Set 3) $25-$50: message containing 151-170 characters (to all of GI), message containing 140 characters (to your favourite member of GI), a small sized photo of your choice to be included in the book.

Set 4) $51-$100: message containing 171-190 characters (to all of GI), message containing 160 characters (to your favourite member of GI), a large sized photo of your choice to be included in the book

Set 5) $100+: message containing 191-230 characters (to all of GI), message containing 190 characters (to your favourite member of GI), a large sized photo of your choice to be included in the book; you are also allowed to send your handwritten letter to GI (A5), which we will put into the book as well; you will get featured on a special page in a book of donators

 

Besides that, everyone who donates between $51-$100 or $100+ will get 3 unseen photos of GI (you are allowed to pick one member).

 

Don't worry if you don't know Korean. You can write your message in English and our team will translate it to Korean for you! 

 

If you are unable to write the message in English, please contact a fan base in your country who cooperates with us (look at: National Leaders), then they will translate it to English and send it to us.

 

How can donations be made?

 

Simple! All you need to do is visit the "donations†area on our forum. Then set the goal to "GI 2nd Debut Anniversary" and send your generous donation via PayPal.

 

If you don't have a PayPal account you can contact one of our National Leaders. They will collect the money in their own currency (via online transfer or bank transfer etc.) and later they will send the funds on to us, after converting it to USD.

PROJECT #2: FROM ANGELS TO ANGELS – THE LOVE LETTER

 

For the people who won’t be able to send money for the donation project, we have another option for you! It's a video project to show our support for the girls! We already made one for GI's 100th Day Debut Anniversary and it turned into a big success! Our work even appeared in Korean media and we were noticed by company and girls as well!

 

This project is really easy so we hope that many people will join it!

 

What do you need to do?

 

First, take a photo of yourself! Be creative! You must include one very important sentence on this photo: a congratulation message to GI! 

Happy 2nd Debut Anniversary, GI!, Happy Anniversary!, 2 years with GI! - these are just examples. You can write in English, Korean or even your native language. Under it please write the hashtag #2YEARSWITHGI (don't change it or translate!), so even if your main message will be varied, this one point will be the same for everyone. You can send a horizontal or vertical photo but please take care for the quality of the photo! The most preferable size is 720p or 1080p. 

 

Secondly, you are allowed to write a message to GI containing a maximum of 140 characters (Twitter message limit!). 

 

** As a bonus, people who will donate to PROJECT #1: BE COOL! STAY WARM! Will be able to send a message to their favourite member of GI! This message will also be a maximum of 140 characters. They will also be featured in a video as donators. **

 

Third, please take one more photo simply with the words "Thank You" on it. Language is not important! Restrictions are same as the first photo. We will include it at the end of video as acknowledgements to all of the members of GI, but in this case especially to those who are no longer members of GI - Aram, Hayun and OneKet. 

 

Lastly, you need to send at least 2 photos (one congratulation message and one thank you message). You can send a maximum of 4 photos. Please send your photos to the user MINA on the forums, or (most preferable) via e-mail to: [email protected]
