...because they're trying to cater to the disturbingly large portion of their fanbase that have been thirsting for brainless hype music. It also makes for a more "fun" MV, I suppose, because it showcases their choreo. I also assume they felt less pressured to choose a more listenable and public-friendly track like Save Me because this is supposed to be a "special" album and not a full-blown comeback.

I guess they wanted to switch things up a bit from INU and Run. Songs like dope and bapsae are much loved by international fans and their recent accomplishments proved just that.

Save me already became my fave song  :rlytearpls:

I was blasting it in my car because it's one of those kpop songs you're not gonna be embarrassed of listening to in public

You're shittin on me here :'(

Tbh I think the boys enjoy the Fire concept as much as (some of) the fans. It's just nice to take a break from the super serious/deep stuff every now and again and just light shit on fire. I really can't pick a fave between the 3 new songs. They're all so good.

Uh, the boys also really enjoy performing "brainless hype music" so it's not just the fans. You can see how much fun they have and how passionate they get while performing Dope and Cypher so I really don't think that this was purely fanservice. They also enjoy it.

Also what, exactly, is wrong with liking hype music? Are you seriously trying to imply that some forms of music are superior and more legitimate than others? Why is it a "disturbing" amount of the fandom for you?

Many fans of this "hype" music have been here since debut.

I love Save Me a lot, but I am extremely happy that they are using a very high energy song such as 'Fire' as their title... They seem to enjoy themselves the most when they are given tough choreography and fast paced songs.

Their are each other's best hype men, so I'm looking forward to seeing what type of energy promoting this song brings..

I have nothing against the genre itself. Personally, I just don't think Fire is all that musically interesting and complex as a song when you take out the performance aspect of it (for what it's worth, I really like Baepsae in part because it's a lot less formulaic and predictable).

I've been a fan since Day 1 so I know how diverse their discography and their musical influences are...that's why I feel like the fresher and more current sound of Save Me is a better representation of what they're capable of.

Here is a person who actually works in music production reviewing Fire:

You don't have to personally like the song, but you can't dismiss it as "not musically interesting and complex as a song" because that's just wrong - it is objectively complex and interesting from a musical standpoint, but again, that doesn't mean you have to like it.

Well, I personally think Fire is a complex song and not "just hype music"

There is a lot of high production quality to the instrumental itself.

It all sounds very expensive, honestly. lol

The synths, beats, tracks used to create Fire are all very top notch. (LOL top notch.. I had to find another word for high quality)

I need an official instrumental of it already.

Of course, if you just don't find it interesting yourself, that's fine.  :) We all have different tastes. I just wanted to point out how massive the production is for Fire ^^
