I hate politics... seriously hate it...

i was thinking the exact same thing but i was like how could this be related to THAAD and missile defense and Chinese-Korean government relations, but then i remembered its china and a chinese company and they always do this type of shit.  China always does this childish shit.  but then again koreans give into netizens like little girls, so i guess each culture has its ridiculous shit that it does.  every time a read any kpop related site i always see "netizens angry etc etc"  netizens furious etc etc".  haha

Guys, maybe if one of you hears any news about what the individual girls end up eventually doing, like if they join a new group, whether the Korean girls in a Korean group, or the Chinese girls in a Chinese group, please post any info here if possible.  thanks!

I knew the political climate would be an issue :( especially with more than half of the group being Chinese I knew it would be harder for them to survive compared to larger groups.

I hope they can debut in new groups, esp since for Mia and Heeu they both missed out on opportunities before and only just got to finally debut. And I hope we can somehow keep up with the Chinese members

well also, its a chinese run company.  so i think that also doomed it in this particular scenario.  too bad china has such knee jerk policies across the board.  3-5 years ago the Chinese government did this to Japan where they worked their own citizens into a fervor, then they did it on the Uighurs, now its Korea.  their control over the media allows them to build up nationalism to cause riots etc on a moments notice.

Well idk anything about Chinese government/politics so I have nothing to say about that other than the world is a mess right now (in my country...a huge mess) and ppl should be trying to fix it instead of continuously making it worse between each other.

Funny you say that because my country's in a mess politically as well so I really can't talk about other countries problems and pretend like they're worse. Fact of the matter is politics really stinks and I hope there are peaceful resolutions to problems. I don't like seeing regular people get affected. Really hope the members are doing ok.

Yeah I hate that people who are just trying to live their lives get mixed up into these issues that could in theory be fixed if the governments in various countries could put their own nationalism/xenophobia behind them and actually figure things out that would be good for the ppl of their nation instead of making it harder for them.

One thing is, as much as this sucks for Mixx and for us as their fans, at least they aren't in life-threatening danger/dealing with other huge impact problems instead. They are also still young, so they have a chance to build their futures whether they choose to continue in entertainment or education or something else. I hope they are all doing okay right now because this is probably so upsetting. More upsetting for them than it is for us.

Agreed! I hope they can still pursue their dreams whatever they may be. I just think it would be a shame for them to have gone through so much hardship and training and not be able to perform. Who knows though, maybe this gives them the freedom to choose a different life for themselves. Maybe it's a new opportunity. Whatever they do they left us with 2 great songs and tried to do something different in the girlgroup game. I think we all appreciated it.

I just saw someone say that a part of the issue was because the company was a joint Korean-Chinese company, the Chinese side of the arrangement did not want to invest in them anymore, which would explain the sudden Makestar project because maybe the Korean side was still attempting to make it work out.

The makestar project makes a lot more sense now... so this has been going on for some time then.

After all their hard work, It's so awful that MIXX got disbanded because of the fallout from THAAD.

I hope Mia and Heeu can continue on with their dreams. I hope Hanna, Arie and Liyah will be okay back in China.

Thanks MIXX for 2 bops. I willl always be listening to them.

Here's Liyah's last couple of instagram pics. So cute!

I'm so confused right now...

they read our thread and realized how much support they had so they are planning to stay together.  JK, honestly who knows, that could be real, it could be a hoax, it could be an early announcement, or it could be them just keeping their options open.  who knows honestly.  again its a CHINESE run company, so yes expect to be confused and for ridiculous stuff to occur hehehehe.  it won't make sense for sure.

Wow, this is such a shock, I heard about the Makestar being delayed or something, but I didn't think it would come to this... ohdearplz.png

I only just found out because of a message on the fancafe talking about the disbandment with their Chinese partner company apparently making the decision to end the partnership.

The Chinese members have apparently returned to China, while Mia and Heeu are remaining with the agency (I used Google Translate).

A screenshot of the message tweeted by Chiko Entertainment.

Here is a good explanation in English on MIXX's disbandment.  I knew it was because of ridiculous Chinese politics.  They just cut ties without even discussing.

"We experienced difficulties during our 1st album production because of the political issues. The agency still tried hard to maintain investment and connection but our partners in China, Chiko Bros, terminated partnership on their own without discussion and returned MIXX's Chinese's members to China. We tried to keep MIXX together but it fell apart as our Chinese partner was uncooperative."

  • 1 month later...

So i heard that the 3 Chinese members Hanna, Arie & Liyah will continue to be active in China (as MIXX or under a new name, idk) while the new Korean members have been released from their contracts unconditionally.

I am saddest for Hyunmi (Mia). As a former Music Works trainee, she had qualified for the drama/project group [email protected] but decided to drop out in order to debut with MIXX. It was a gamble no matter how you look at it, and in this case her luck ran out, majorly. I hope she has better luck in whatever she decides to do next.

ugh that is terrible luck.  thanks for the bit of info and update on them.  i hope the korean members can get into a new group.  i think its possible. it seems like large girl groups (8-10 members) from labels unknown to me are popping up everywhere
