1.Complete request form(found in this post below) and send in a PM to The Event Team Coordinator.  

 

2.Requests must be submitted a 1-2 weeks prior to the event being held. 

 

3.Decision is made by the events team(mainly the coordinator)

 

4.The user will be notified of their request status after all submissions are reviewed.

 

5.Sponsored users have  one month to host their game or all prizes will be void.  This begins when they get approved

 

6.In the case that you cancel your game while its ongoing. You will lose your prizes and the game will no longer be sponsored so no prizes will be given. You will need to apologize to your players as GM and explain why they wont receive prizes

 

7. If sponsored you will be required to add this graphic on to your prizes

can I ask why ? you guys were sponsoring many games ever since this thread was created, I remember seeing users having +2 games sponsored per month like just for their own

originally we intended to sponsor games now and then for games that were unique but the amounts of games being created and sponsorship request escalated beyond what we anticipated and its gotten abit out of control.

 

 

the prizes given out in in total had become too much ( stamps have been backlogged for months) the token  starts to inflate.

 

but we didnt want to stop sponsoring non staff events in total. so we came up with a monthly system to tackle the problem while still giving users the chance to have their games sponsored.

No, the sponsoring is for games not people. 2 games may be sponsored each month though also none may be sponsored

Hmmmm ...... I sent in my previous request right before the change, and it was accepted and I was sponsored, but then the change happened and I was told to try again.

Is there any chance of me still getting sponsored :(

And also, I have some things to say about the new sponsoring process ^_^ it's just my two cents feel free to ignore, though (I didn't want to clog up this thread with posts from me so I'm editing this post instead). 

 

There have indeed been an influx of sponsorship requests, but along with the requests there have been a welcome variety of games within OH instead of the normal WWs. I like WWs, don't get me wrong, but the new games have been a fun change as well. 

 

But as you said, the issues with plats and stamps both occurred. 

 

My suggestion?

 

Having the judging panel convene for a game that's trying to get a lot of plats or stamps. For other minis, sponsor them with some gold tokens, or even bronze/silver. It gives more users a chance to still host games. 

 

 

Also, I wish y'all would've started the 2 games a month sponsorship thing AFTER summer was over. It's summer, and everyone's free  :ohbi:  it's why so many games have been held and want to be held.

Game Title: Pull up on ya Carats with your Gifts Fully Wrapped

Date Hosting: July 20-25

How long will this game/event be?: 5 days.

Objective of the Game (please explain): Seventeen member’s Jun and Mingyu are eager to show that they are truly Jeon Wonwoo’s best friend and have recruited fellow members along with gifts to throw Wonwoo the best birthday party ever. Help find the gifts and the members that they've secured in order to help Mingyu or Jun see their plan to success!

                           

30 players are to sign up and are given the option to play on Jun’s side of the board or Mingyu’s (only 15 players can play on a side)

• Their objective is to find the 5 members and the gifts that have been scattered throughout Seoul (the colored areas represent different areas - Apgujeong, Gangnam, Itaewon, Jamsil, Myungdong). At the beginning of each Stage, players will have to pick a spot on the board to move to.

• The game will be held in 3 stages: Receipts Stage, Gifts Stage and Members Stage.

• Within each stage are a series of rounds to find your hidden items (receipts, gifts, members). Rounds will last until players have found their hidden items.

• In order to progress to the next stage, you must be able to find all of the hidden items of the previous stage

  • In order to get to the Gifts Stage, you must be able to find all 5 receipts located on the board in order to start looking for where a member might have bought their gifts. Once you’ve correctly identified where all the gifts are, you will receive hints as to which member might have purchased a gift, and their location.

• To win the game, you must be able to correctly match the member to the gift they have bought and where they have discarded the receipt after you’ve found all of the members during the Member Stage.

• There are two special spots on the board, that change during every Stage.

  • Jeon Wonwoo: Lucky Charm - landing on this spot will give you 2 clues as to where items are located in the next phase. If a player picks to land on this spot again, their side (Jun or Mingyu) will move back half a step from one another.

  • The8 : Former Thug - The8’s not happy with Wonwoo monopolizing all of Mingyu and Jun’s thoughts and time, so he’s going to do his best to make sure neither can throw the party for Wonwoo. Landing on this spot will get you eliminated from the game and your side (Jun or Mingyu) will take one step closer to the other.

• If Jun or Mingyu meet one another at any point, the side that the meeting takes place on loses, and prizes will be distributed based on the amount of clues and items found.

  • Jun or Mingyu will take 2 steps forward if a player decides to make a final guess (where a member bought a gift and where they discarded the receipt) and the final guess is wrong.

    • This is done to encourage players to keep looking for clues and to not start making haphazard guesses to win in the final stage.

• We want to award 3 places, the quickest to get through the rounds and correctly, and the next two runner ups with the most amount of clues/closest to putting the game together. Additional prizes will also be given to the winning side who gets to host Wonwoo’s birthday party.

 

Difficulty (1-5 scale, 1 = very easy, 5 = very hard): 4.5. We’re tempted to rate this a 5, but we’re not positive. It’s got a lot of elements, as well just sheer luck in trying to avoid the8’s elimination spots. It’s time consuming, and it tests one’s investigative skills as well, since clues that are given by the GMs are all players have to go off of. You can even breeze through, if you can understand the clues well enough.

 

Type of sponsorship requested (token, stamp, etc. We do not offer wons and please GIVE US an estimate of what you want!): We’d like the events team to sponsor First Place in addition to second and third places. If possible, a ring for first place, and platinums for second & gold tokens third. (We previously had a donor for a kpoptown voucher as a prize for first place, but they haven't confirmed anything yet)

 

Prize distribution: First Place:  Ring

                           Second Place: Platinum tokens (20)

                           Third Place: Gold tokens (15)

                  In addition to the prizes given to the top 3, we will also give the winning side won that we are accumulating. The current goal is to have at least 1.5 million won to be able to divide amongst a minimum of 14 players.

 

Reason for your request:  we would like OH benefits befitting the amount of hard work that the first three places would put in. Offering only won in a game like this doesn’t seem right, considering game play and how intricate it is.

 

What sets your game/event apart from the others? Why should the Events Team sponsor it?: It’s an original game that the GMs worked on together. We were able to come up with the idea after thinking about the children’s game Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, but that game couldn’t have been brought to reality. What could be was this. It’s fun, competitive, investigative and has a lot of layers beneath it. We all believe that the players will have a different sort of experience getting to play a game like this.

Well us sponsoring was meant to help out users who wanted to host but didn't have the resources. It was never meant to be for more than a few users a month. So now we're sticking to that. And I'm more than okay with calling sponsorships a failure and getting rid of it altogether.

When its announced who were the people that got the sponsorship for that month, they have exactly one month to do the game otherwise the sponsorship would be voided. Point 8 of  the sponsorship process explains it

 

8.Winners have one month to host their game or all prizes will be void.  This begins when the current month's winners are announced

 

So yeah you can do it next month as long as its within the one month deadline

Uh, I was definitely led to believe otherwise. I don't have the PM anymore because I had to make room in my inbox for another series of games I was hosting :._.:

I changed parts of the application however, which is why I applied again here. I hope it's still taken into consideration, if not, well, that's cool too :meow:
