I was browsing their records at KOMCA (because that's what a production credit nerd like me does in her spare time), and noticed this mystery song. I don't recall seeing it before. The song title is romanized, so I can't even search for it on the Korean side of the net. I thought the only new songs they performed at the D-Day concert were Eyeless and Hunt. Was this a third one?

Ohhhhhh, no wonder. I've clicked on that video before, but I just remember thinking, I can't even hear what the song sounds like, I'm not going to watch this, haha. I actually thought it was a cover. Well then. I'd really like a studio version so I can craft an opinion on it.

Hello to all the new folks! We're pretty quiet in this thread unless something new just happened/was released, but feel free to contribute whenever and however. If anything important is ever missing or needs to be updated in the OP, just let me know. (I am planning to overhaul it soon, when the boys come back with new songs/concept photos. Hopefully February, according to the rumor mill.)

 

New poll is up! What venture(s) would you like the boys to explore?

 

Acting - Not particularly. Unless any of them are genuinely interested and/or skilled in it, I'd be fine if they never acted.

 

Brand Endorsement/Modeling/CFs - This probably steps too close to "idol" territory, but I'd like it for selfish reasons: more snazzy photoshoots to make OP graphics with! 

 

Collaboration Song - BIG, FAT YES! Some non-JYP artists I'd love to see them collaborate with would be eSNa, Jung Sungha, and Urban Zakapa.

 

Entrepreneuring - This would be years down the road after some serious hustling, but definitely yes. Taecyeon has OKCAT, various 2PM members have their restaurants, and JYP has Kristalbelli, so I would love to see the boys establish their own business ventures. Young K should definitely have a restaurant, being the foodie that he is.

 

OST Song - Of course. They could do an(other) amazing ballad for a drama or movie.

 

MC'ing - Sure? Couldn't hurt. Junhyeok seems like a good speaker (in terms of the cadence that MCs have).

 

Music Show - Probably the most hotly debated topic when it comes to DAY6, and you can't last a day (no pun intended) in the fandom without forming an opinion. I understand and respect the boys' decision in this: only if they can play live. See, Sketchbook.

 

Philanthropy - Very much so. Donating time, money, rice, whatever they can. I'd also love to see them do the "Letters from Angels" campaign; beautiful message and photos!

 

Radio DJ'ing - They're already permanent guests on Sukira, but I'd like to see any number of them with their own show one day. Young K would be great at this, his voice is so soothing.

 

Theater/Musical - I think Sungjin and Junhyeok would own this. Junhyeok really surprised me on Halloween--his pirate costume changed his aura completely, and I realized he could pull off a stage character well.

 

Variety Show - The musical ones would be great--Immortal Song, King of Masked Singer, etc.

Is it me or has he lost some serious weight....    His face is so angular suddenly. Not necessarily a bad thing, I just hope it's not stress or pressure-related.

New poll is up. Which JYP artist-composer would you like to see DAY6 work with? It's bound to happen at some point, so let's discuss. As always, if I missed anyone notable, let me know.

 

Baek A Yeon - This would be cute, and one doesn't have to look any further than "Shouldn't Have..." for a preview. But I prefer DAY6 a little harder/darker than Bae's soft, sweet coffee shop sound.

 

Chansung - Again, wouldn't be bad, but not something I'm really drooling for yet. Chansung skews jazzy, so it would either be an amazing fusion or an odd jumble.

 

G.Soul - Yes, please. G.Soul's instrumentation is very urban, which would compliment the boys nicely, give them a very ambient sound.

 

HA:TFELT/Yeeun - Yes, please 2.0. For the exact same reasons: urban instrumentation, ambient sound. And her signature sweeping melodies. Just all-around amazingness.

 

Jun. K - Yep, I'm here for it. This would be an awesome guitar-driven bop.

 

JYP - I'd be very surprised if JYP ever gave DAY6 a song. 

 

Yerin Baek - YES. Yerin really proved her chops with FRANK, and I'd love to hear her jazzy R&B mixed with DAY6's pop rock. Her sound is different enough from Bae's (darker, more use of minor keys) that I think it would work. 

 

Yubin - Yubin's a tricky one, as her composing has covered a lot of different styles, all of them done well. I'm just banking on the fact that I always love her melodies, so there's no doubt she'd pull out something good. 

 

Hyelim / JB / Junho / Sunmi / Taecyeon / Wooyoung - I either don't know enough about their compositions, or they haven't done enough for me to really evaulate.

To my knowledge, Jimin hasn't composed any of her or 15&'s material. I included composers only, and the question addresses composing for DAY6 only. This is different from, Who do you want DAY6 to collaborate with?, which would be everybody for me.

I'll definitely organize individual badge voting one day, we just have to wait for some better official pics. Most of the album shoot from last time didn't meet the badge criteria (one or both eyes hidden, face turned away, etc.), and their radio/interview press pictures usually aren't great quality. That's why I'm looking forward to this album. If you know of any official pics of Jae or any member that would make a good badge, always link me so I can make mockups. Thanks.

Dang, no one is safe. Did he not participate in the upcoming album, then? No jacket photoshoot, no vocals, nothing? I find that hard to believe, as you have to prepare those things far in advance. If Junhyeok leaving has been brewing for a while, it makes no sense, the timing of it all.

When Sunmi and HyunA left other members were added.... When we think of Wonder Girls don't we just think of them with Yubin and Lim??

 

I just hope that Sunday's will accept the new member (if there is one) as we originally accepted Dowoon!!

 

Agreed. I would be fine either way, if they added someone or just stayed as five (despite the oddity of their name as such). I think both paths would show different strengths, and I would welcome either.

It was just a rumor. It might have been the real date at some point, since we know they had a photo shoot in early Feb, but Junhyeok leaving probably rearranged the schedule.

And I know that these interviews they're doing are to help promote their American tour but aren't any Korean media outlets getting similar interviews? These interviews are interesting and fun and I half hope K-sundays get to read this. (Half because I think the K-bullies don't deserve shit.) 

 

Preach. I've never seen them do a Korean interview, if you don't count the radio shows.

Also, it seems the boys have all mass exited social media, save for Young K's instagram. Who knows, that may go in the next few days. I was scared when I first saw Jae had closed his twitter, but it seems to have been a group decision. Opening the V live channel reassured me a bit, but damn, I hate this push and pull.

 

Edit: Aaaaaaaaand there went Young K's instagram, in favor of the new DAY6 official instagram. Whew. I need a drink.

Indeed. I was expecting that, though, since every member co-wrote and co-composed every song on The Day, as well.

I've been wondering about the possibility of Pandora, You, Eyeless, or Hunt being on this album. I would literally flip tables if we finally got studio versions of them, but at the same time, 6-7 completely new songs would blow my mind, too. Thoughts?

From the recent teaser pics, Young K had shades on, and Wonpil had too much lens flare, so both of those were out. Here are our very sad badge options so far. Sad as in the low amount of options, not as in bad pictures, necessarily. Some are beautiful (like Jae's fourth one *faint*), others are definitely just out of desperation (like Young K's *slump*). Hopefully we'll get more pics as the days go by.

It was hard enough trying to make a Junhyeok badge while he was in the group, much more now that he's out of it. There won't be any official pics of him now, and the few that are already out are either invalid or substandard quality. If he has enough supporters/keepers, I'll be happy to include him, but the picture hunt will not be fun. Godspeed. *salute*

Yeah i'm puzzled about the whole music show thing too. Will they promote on music shows? ...

 

what do you guys think? promoting on music shows won't necessarily make them idols or not serious about their music. Its just another platform to promote their music. I just want JYPE to highlight how awesome DAY6 is with their solid vocals and music writing ability. 

 

I don't think their musical ability is ever in question, certainly not by the fans. It's just the fact that the boys have expressed many times they don't want to handsync, so it would be hypocritical if they suddenly changed their tune now. If they can play live, though, there'd be no complaint from any side of the discussion.
