Anyway, they prob made him shoot that results video with them (even if he was already eliminated which only fans know lol) coz those are most likely shown first in the TV episode versions so it would be weird if he is absent before his elimination announcement...

They didn't upload any Shinwon video but they still uploaded Hongseok and Kino. Hopefully theirs wouldn't count so we could get another best member or sth.

you know maybe it's just the 1st view for most people streaming it since it just got released too... We should wait till Thursday or sth. Hopefully fans stream Yan An's video or sth. If Shinwon was still there, he'd easily get those views and likes... He's the one who has been getting them a lot the past 2 or so weeks right behind Hongseok. He's been 2nd for online views twice iirc?

Why are Pentagon fans doing this?

 

 

They are just going to make the "Best Member 1 point" go to waste. Only Yanan has space to receive that point.

 

This Pentagon fandom is full of individual fans. Otherwise they would have help Yanan, since they are already informed.

 

We don't even know if Mnet will give talent point to Yanan next week, this week is it 

Well at least he has the most likes for now... and y complain about having many individual fans? Hongseok Stans are everywhere... not like it's a bad thing.

 

Also wow that's such A low view count compared to previous weeks. There should be at least a member hu reached 3-5k by now. Looks like cube messed up lol. Congrats.

Tbh the more i think about it, the kfans speculation of Cube suddenly deciding to put Shinwon on P101 male version which apparently will start preparations in August is, the more likely I think it's quite possible from happening.

 

To me it didn't seem like the show intended for eliminations at the start and all of a sudden u have an elimination of someone who is doing decently in the show. Not to mention, around the same time that Produce 101 male version news came out.

 

If they really wanted a member on P101, Shinwon is prob the best bet without affecting everything they have prepared for debut so far tbh. He won't leave a big void with his absence as far as music and performance goes for the group. He also has the variety personality that could catch people's attention in a show like P101. They won't let him debut to avoid backlash of making an already debuted idol joining. They will pull an Eunbin and add him in the group after the show ends.

 

I think this is Cube's buffer or back up plan just in case Pentagons debut won't do as well as expected but I think it's quite risky and Shinwon is going to be caught in between and that's really unfortunate.

 

What if what the member who said that the turnout rate last Sunday's performance would determine if they'll debut as 10 or not is indeed true. I'm guessing if Cube has gauged that Pentagon has enough popularity as it is to have a successful debut, they'll think that it's no longer necessary for a back up plan. I really want 10. I can live with less but I just think the group dynamic was at its best when they r 10 on and off stage.

That's actually a good idea.

 

Actually Pentagonmaker kinda flops in terms of awareness with the general public, it just gets interest from a small group of fans.

 

Who knows, maybe Astro (boygroup) has more public awareness than Pentagon.

 

Putting Shinwon in Produce101 would be better since everyone watches Produce101, heard Big 3 will join too.

 

So if this is what Cube and MNET pulling, i actually think it is a good idea. Then that means they are a genius 

 

Then fans should will settle down since news of Produce101 will be released on August of which they realize Cube and Mnet are actually genius lol.

It sounds like a good idea for now but hopefully it won't end up with a messy result. Sigh...

 

Also you can't really compare the public awareness between a group that has already debuted as opposed to a group who hasn't. I doubt BEAST had significantly more public awareness during their pre-debut documentary compared to Pentagon (Maker). Once they debut, people/non-fans will start caring but the thing is that when they do, they already have an existing fandom willing to support the group by then which will help new fans getting easier access. these will be the same people who will help in the awareness Dept through word of mouth too.

 

Let's just hope for a good debut concept.

Shiwon in male!P101 seems plausible, but what after? With P101, most of the girls were getting ready to debut in their respective groups anyway, or were otherwise being evaluated on their P101 reception. Logically, CUBE has to gain something from P101 for it to be worth the trouble of taking Shiwon out of Pentagon.

 

Does CUBE really have the resources to debut two boygroups effectively back-to-back?

 

Because the alternatives are to: 1) Delay pentagon until the P101 ends, and pray that Shiwon doesn't get into the final lineup so there aren't any further delays 2) Just debut Pentagon as planned, then stick Shiwon back in.  Neither option is looks good tbh.

 

Welp if there was anything to go by with what they did to CLC and more specifically Eunbin's P101 mess... that's is probably one of the reasons that I base my speculations from...

 

Either Shinwon pissed Cube and they think he isn't ready to debut... (take note: Soyou got cut from 4M lineup last minute due to attitude? - apparently/just read that somewhere, so was that one potential CLC member, Go Seohyun?) or this is just all drama and they will pull a Momo.

 

I doubt they will delay Pentagon's debut. They're obviously going to debut next month which is right on schedule... when Beast finishes their promotions (end of July) and before Hyuna's comeback (end of Aug most likely).

Well... if he means only 5 can debut then Pentagon as a name now makes sense LOL but... are they going to be a dance group? O.o (assuming those people are Kino, Hongseok, Hui, Yeo One and Jinho)

Anyway, how old is his nephew though? Maybe it's just some elementary or middle school kid who doesn't have much information about the show aka unreliable.

Kino would have been perfect in P101. Shinwon is also good since he is more fit to be variety star. It would be great if Pentagon debut get postponed, the show is so sucessful that general public watch it, it will bring many fans and public recognition. 

 

The show is going to air in January though, that's quite far... although preparations will start in August from what I heard. Also we aren't even that sure if the show itself will be as successful as it's precedent considering that usually shows which end up having lots of seasons don't measure up to the success of the 1st. I'm not sure if it's a risk worth taking to postpone a debut for it...  (which I'm sure is impossible anyway lol)

Except we haven't really seen them doing a legit performance that involves singing and not just dancing as 10 members...

 

I don't think it's about the members themselves not wanting to step back but they are in a "survival" show where they ofc want to show as much as they can if not everything. They need to be ambitious and to have that hunger or desire to want that debut... Not all of them has that popularity advantage like Hongseok...

 

And the other members or leaders for specific battles seem to actually be considerate and give the members their time to shine on stage.

Yeah I agree with everything you said about survival on the show lol.

I just hope after debut, they will make a clear line between the main vocals and the sub vocals.

Or else a second case of Gu9udan is going to happen. Kim Sejung sings like 5 seconds and that's all her lines? What? Don't even understand why the maknaes of Gu9udan has to sing so long, they are not even main vocal material lol.

 

I mean yeah people may think "Let's divide the lines equally between 9 members of Gu9udan", but that may not be a good choice. Kim Sejung's voice needs to be more in the song, or else the song is lost in the woods lol.

 

To do that, other Gu9udan members needs to take a step back. My suggestion is that maybe after 1 year of debut, maknaes of Gu9udan can sing more. For the first 1 year, Kim Sejung needs to sing more, because the group needs to paint a message "Kim Sejung is the main vocalist" at least for the first 1 year of their debut, so the group has a clear main vocal "face".

 

It's all image making process. I'm pretty sure the maknaes can sing well too, but they are overshadowing Kim Sejung, which is not going to be a good 1st year for Gu9udan.

Let's say we try to match EXO's role with Pentagon's role:

 

EXO Chen: Pentagon Jinho

EXO Baekhyun : Pentagon Hongseok

EXO D.O : Pentagon Hui

EXO Suho : Pentagon Kino

 

Other EXO members: Other Pentagon members.

 

Then at least for the first 1 year, the "other Pentagon members" should refrain from singing adlibs or high notes in their songs. They are ruining the overall image of the group.

 

As always, I just want to find a beautiful balance in the group, so the songs can be presented beautifully, and image creation is a success.

The younger members of Pentagon can sing more after 1 year, but the first 1 year I definitely think they should refrain from singing too much lol.

 

 

 

Well, if Cube's other boy groups and their music are anything to go by... they divide their songs pretty proportionate to their abilities. Beast's maknae Dongwoon who was pretty bad at singing during debut only legit sang a lot more than a year after which was for Fiction. BTOB's Peniel still has the least amount of lines coz well he's the least skilled in both rapping and singing in the group. I don't think you have to worry about that aspect. Cube seems to do a good job when it comes to giving lines to people based on their skills.

 

The thing about comparing Exo and Pentagon is that... Pentagon actually have 3 decent to good rappers which has to be taken into account tho. I wonder how they can incorporate that with an already good vocal line up. I see Kino and Hui doing the choruses tbh. Hongseok doing bridges and the first verses to open up a song (I think his voice really fits those imo ofc), Jinho doing most of the high notes and adlibs since I think he has the smoothest and most stable one compared to Hui. Yeo One in charge with verses and harmonizing. Now... where to put 3 rappers in there  I only stan Beast who has only 1 rapper and who gets 1 rap section in a song 90% of the time which is already enough for me...

yeah I just said that on twitter too... if it's a 4 vs 4 battle... it can prob be either Yuto or E'dawn who is on the other team since Yan An is still around. They obviously have recorded earlier today the results for this week which means Yeo One, Hui and Jinho are confirmed members most likely by now.

I think the 3 vs 3 vs 3 performances will still be in ep 11 tho? Going by their previous episodes.... ep 10 should be the last team missions (non-performance ones) which I'm guessing are those where they went to different places to promote the event + scenes of them preparing their stages and stuff. Then a bunch of individual videos on Tuesday. Then performance on ep 11 then the final results for everything on ep 12, the last ep.

I just watched the collaboration stage and I thought that my favorite will be team Hui since my bias is there, but I prefered more Team Jinho and I wouldn't mind if they debut 5 vs 5. Their synergy were really good. 10 people would be too much because there is not one member who is untalented to be carried.

But I think they have to separate Hongseok and Jinho since their are the most popular members  (I am conflicted because, they match well)

 

Big groups are the trend now tho... I'd rather they debut with a big numbered group... at least 7-8 members if not 10. That will also set them apart from Cube's other boy groups on top of probably being better overall dancers too. There's always other venues to show their skills anyway like units, collaborations, duets when they debut. The more members, the more fans I guess. The more fans, the better it is for the group and ultimately Cube. BUT that's just me.

Anw.. some people talk about not getting attached to OT10 but then u have the members attach number 10 when they talk about the group. You can't really blame the majority of the fandom wanting OT10.

I think whining was understandable. Denial does happen first but I've seen more people accepting the possibility now of not getting OT10. But hey it's not as bad as how suddenly divided the big veteran fandoms in Cube rn are after the things that happened this yr LOL so yeah this is tame for me hehe
