Because of course, these idols are very good-looking and we're disconnected from them unlike people in our real lives, so seeing them do it makes them more human, whereas with already "regular" humans, it's a bit weird to see. Yes, we all do gross things and we're always checkin' ourselves, and it sucks it was caught on camera, but it isn't exactly cute either lol. It wouldn't turn me off them, but I'd be a bit shocked at first if they did it so blatantly. I've never seen people my age do that in public though, surprisingly. Just to make sure my pits be smelling fresh and I don't stink like old socks. And I'm sure other people do it too. Some deodorants smell fresher for longer while others wear off quicker.
