At this rate, is it safe to say YG is on the decline?

so as we all know, YG has literally went off the deep end

 

it seems to me he doesn't know what to do lately 

 

1. locking up lee hi akmu and winner despite them having great debuts and hype

 

2. a lot of IKON exposure, however not getting the pure domination and results i'm sure he wanted 

 

3. 2NE1's messy hiatus

 

4. YGNGG being a literal myth at this point 

 

5. Katie Kim just.... being there

 

among other things...

 

 

BIGBANG is set, there's no debate there tbh

 

however, after they go to the army, do you all think, at the current rate he's going he's setting himself up for his own downfall?

 

now, I'm not saying he's gonna double over and go bankrupt overnight

 

however, how things are currently being run, it seems to me like a steady decline in his "big 3" holding could take place

 

this is assuming nothing changes in the span of let's say, 3-5 years maybe?

 

SM is consistent as ever (not on them lawsuits thoooo), JYP is slowly rising back up with TWICE and GOT7 hype, and BIG HIT is objectively on the rise as well... so where does that leave YG? 

 

 

YG has subsidiary's now like HIGH GRND and Teddy and Kush's new label

 

whilst a good move imo... but I don't think the point is for other artists to literally run to the subsidiaries bc their main company isn't giving them the opportunities they need and deserve...

minzy leaving bc of no work is truly telling tbh

 

while bom's scandal did have an influence on the current status of the group, that shouldn't have stopped the company from giving Minzy some work (assuming that's the real reason of course).

He really sucks at managing his artists. As of right now, YG definitely still has the potential, he just has no idea how to use it

Big Bang- enlisting soon, will probably be gone for 4-6 years in which YG will have to figure out what to do.

Like I literally dread seeing if/ how much YG's profits will drop without Big Bang there.

Ikon and Winner had great debuts, but I really feel like they're succumbing to YG's mismanagement, especially Winner.

IKon has not (in my opinion) gotten the results yet for how much YG has put into them. They probably will in the future though.

Despite the mess, he came 2nd for digital market for the first quarter of 2016 and the flop cosmetic line (forgot the name) is doing good now thanks to GD and Dara... /sigh/

I remember the times when we all said "oh YG you such a troll" but now things are getting serious.

 

I Just dont understand what its going on with him not debuting the new gg and with the way they manage Lee Hi and Akmu, you know i dont even know how Katie Kim's face looks like.

 

And yeah Bb is going to the army so they'll be on a difficult situation. And it makes me mad that they turn Ikon and Winner into tour machines, it dont work that way, YG.

 

But i dont know what to think about them being on decline, I think they might surprise us one day finally doing the right things, or maybe they'll still going strong thanks to their other bussines without caring about their music bussines or maybe they just make Winner and Ikon tour a lot while BB is in the army.

 

Just hope all of this is a wake up call to him. Im actually awaiting to see what is going to happen, since SM is more stable than ever, JYP is rising and YG..?

i dont get YG, like he has people that are a guaranteed success...but he always settles for the minimum, like all the groups/artists he has could be even bigger than they are...but...like 2ne1...i don't get how he didnt give them more...they were snsd rivals, and he settled for great digitals..nothing else

 

i think he chooses to focus on one thing, and all his attention goes into making only that great and the rest come second...seemed like the case with bb...and i think he's trying to recreate that with ikon, fuck everyone else lol

He locked up Lee Hi for too long and is giving her hardly anything to do even when she is promoting. Like, hello YG, NOT ALL YOUR ARTISTS NEED TO BE MYSTERIOUS. Lee Hi has LITERALLY expressed interest in NOT holding up your stupid image and one of the members of your most iconic female act fucking left bc of it.
