Why do Twice don't sing the BG vocals while singing live?

I'm curious as to why they don't sing the BG vocals because there are 9 girls in the group, they can do it,It is a thing JYP groups do? It make it look awkward while one sing and the BG plays while the other girls do nothing ( the probably fell awkward while doing it tho)

example : 0:50 or 0:57

They just let the backtrack with vocals sing. This is mostly with any Kpop groups. And this is how they also do when they perform on Stage. I think it's a Tradition to do this in the Kpop world. Kinda like a rule or something that all Kpop idols has been taught. Nothing wrong with that. Just enjoy!

I though it was just a JYP thing since i've seen groups do the BG lol that's why i was asking

Red Velvet doesn't sing some parts either, like the Dumb Dumb in the beginning. Its for them to catch their breath or the back track needs to be loud to sound better at those parts.

I have seen other groups doing it that's why i asked

edit : RV do sing the dumb dumb part tho

not the haha bc lol
