I feel like Soomin's expression have really never been that bad, it's just that she goes blank when she's nervous and not performing. While performing she always matches whatever song she is in.

She is like a stage chameleon. 

 

Shy and unassuming off stage, almost tries to blend into the background. Put her on stage and in front of a mic and BANG!

You want fiery and swag? You got it. You want charismatic and elegant? You got it. Sexy and bubbly? She's delivering that and more.

 

I feel like Kpopstar almost does her a disservice by playing up her vocals but hiding her emotional and creative expression and painting her as this stone faced vocal technician when she's so much more than that.

 

Someone should get JYP and YG to view these videos and show them how much they have mis-understood Soomin.

 

Soomin appears unexpressive on Kpopstar because she's probably suffering from mild depression after losing her way and leaving Fantagio which she has known almost her entire teenage years. Also because she's not been given songs which allow her to display her more girlish playful side.

Call me biased but all the news and speculation about who gets signed with which agency and almost no news about Soomin's next move makes me laugh silently.

 

I'm almost 100% certain that there's a fierce bidding war going on right now between JYP and YG behind the scenes to sign Soomin.

 

She's strong in all areas,has a distinct memorable voice that comes across clearly both on stage and in recordings,a very cool chic vibe and strong leadership aura and a calm unflappable demeanor.

 

She's the pick of the entire Season 6 Kpopstar cohort and I'm shocked no other OH forumer sees this.

If the judges had not split up Soomin and Sohee, I think they would have won Kpopstar.

 

They were developing a nice synergy and gelling as a team and even beat Boyfriend head to head.

This thread makes me so happy! I've liked soomin since pd101 and thought it was such a shame how underrated she was. And then it sucked even more when she announced she was leaving fantagio. I hope JYP signs her and debuts her in the new gg with somi. JYP seemed to really like her

Lee Soomin <3 I've loved her ever since the Monster stage on Produce101. her voice color is sooo pretty <3 got depressed when she left Fantagio and said she has worries pursuing idol life T_T

when she joined kpopstar6 I was so happy and wished for her success and fortunately she did awesome there and even has JYP and YG fighting over her xD

 

I'm hoping she'll sign with JYP and maybe debut together with Somi (and somewhat wishing So Hee to turn away from Hunus and joined JYP as well xD) because YG's dungeon takes longer to break free lol

Same. I was hoping at least one of the trainee girls would go to a big agency but it's all good. At least we are hearing some news she is still in the entertainment business. Oh I just watched pd101 recently just to see her again lol and found out she wants to act too. Is Leon the same company as IU? Hey maybe in the future Soomin will be like IU, who was let go by JYP too.

Sad it isn't JYP after all this wait, but my main hope was for her to be with a good company, and Loen seems good, so I am satisfied.

I hope her debut comes soon, I hope it is in a group (all these solo debuts for the other girls makes me worried), if Park Soyeon was in it, too, that would be amazing.

Lee Minjoo, Krisha Tiu, Kim Soo and others from K-Pop Star 6 have already announced their debuts to be soon.
