Another fan-made video compilation of Lee Soo-min, from her past trainee life, to PD101, to now on Kpopstar.

 

I am shocked at 2:05 of the video. Soo-min was 16 years old then but so fluent in English she's basically native level.  Also her spoken Mandarin is quite impressive as well. 

 

Does she have wealthy parents who provided her special schooling? Even if she was given special schooling, she must have an impressive intellect/gift for languages for her to be effectively trilingual.

Danggg her English is amazing, like I guessed so because of how she sings in English but I am still so impressed. I don't understand Chinese of course but it sounds really good! Soomin would be a great asset to any company's girl group, someone better pick her up!

Since the styling of the girl in the lace top comforting the crying girl at 0:07 looks like the same styling as Chrisha at 0:33 I hope that means we do get to see the trainee battle this coming episode. I'm so excited to see how it turns out! JYP team feels like the Avengers team with Soomin, SoHee and Minju, I hope they do very well!!

Soomin is so talented, I hope she makes it to the top 10! But if not, she gets picked up quick by JYP or YG, though I hope it's JYP that gets her again when all of this is said and done. xD

Just rewatched all of Soomin's performances from P101-Kpopstar (again) I am so thrilled to see her performance with So Hee tomorrow. I hope it slays me just right. I am comforted in that she is paired with So Hee, who is also one of the most popular participants, so it is extremely unlikely that she will be eliminated!

(Though I am honestly okay with her elimination, but only if it comes with the news that she was signed on to a good company with it.)

Soomin looks so good in her concept with So Hee in the Top 8, I hope they make it through there, too!

We'll just have to see how it goes, no guarantee for the girl group ending, no guarantee on how it will turn out popularity wise if it does come to fruition.

I just will be supporting Soomin through it all, I really do hope she gets scouted by JYP. If not just a good company that will debut her to success.

And having seen the new episode, the boyfriend and Soomin/Sohee match up was too interesting.

Soomin and Sohee do seem to bring the best out of each other, but also their individual strengths show up very nicely. But seeing Sohee and Soomin doing the same dance makes Soomin dancing look like it's less than it is, as she was better than all of her previous duet partners at dancing. But Sohee is really just that amazing and she does have those amazing lines and precision in all her movements that makes other pale in comparison. Same with vocals the other way. However, like JYP said that's the point, them both having their strong points that makes the whole stronger. Additionally they switched it up and looked like they were having fun and smiling, which was the main thing the judges were looking out of them this round. I'm so happy!

Also they said they were a good pair, so I don't anticipate they will break them up, but maybe they will add to them? idk

Can I be honest?

 

I was a little disappointed that Minju joined.

 

Soomin and Ara have a tried and proven killer combination of power vocals and energy -- see Bang Bang. While Soomin didn't mesh well with Minju the last time they were in the same group.

 

I just pray that Minju doesn't upset the synergy and teamwork that Soomin and Ara have already going for them.

 

Soomin-Krisha, Soomin-Sohee and Krisha-Ara have been good combos. I would have been happier with either Krisha or Sohee.

Yeah, Soomin and Sohee seemed to be hitting their stride teamwork wise, and they seemed to comment that they liked it last time. I am sad they split them up. I would have loved Ara to join the two of them instead of this match up.

I am just worried for them because they all do have their own fanbases, Sohee and Kriesha seem to be the most popular of the trainees as we go into the live voting. I assume that somehow they will all make it through and be okay because combining them is really just seeming more and more like heading towards the full gg ending, but a little worried.

Please pick a great song for you all and work hard please!!

They didn't feature Soomin in that clip, just her two group mates, but I am glad to see her getting lots of love through these gift things! Did she win some sort of poll to get the treats?

Also Soomin becomes prettier to me the longer I see her on kpopstar, she is fantastic.

Yeah they really messed up the audio live, you can actually hear everyone in the studio version. I hope they bounce back and do even better this next time.

Prayercircle for Soomin and Minari. May they pick the best song, perform it well and have all of the tech work up to par as well!

I hope they give Soomin and Ara more singing lines next round.

 

Hate to be mean but Minju is the weakest singer yet she had the most lines last week and she butchered her prolonged solo because of her poor English. 

 

Couple that to Soomin's and Ara's microphones not working properly and it was a minor miracle that Minari was able to survive.

 

This Sunday, I hope Minari sets aside any thoughts of pride and hurt feelings and just deploy each member according to her strengths : Ara for the high notes, Soomin as the bridge and opening verses and to support Ara in her high notes. Minju should concentrate on rapping and dance and let Soo-ara carry the song.

Yeah they shouldn't default to giving Minju the spotlight parts because she is the eldest. They need the balance that will show off their talents best to put their best foot forward. Which is pretty much just what you said.

My main hope is still forever that JYP recruits her for Somi's group, and really to be the leader of it Soomin is so talented, well-spoken, level-headed and trilingual, girl's got it all going for her. But her being with Ara would be good as well. I just want to see her successful, she is so wonderful and I will stan.

Well looking back to Lily M, who was even Top 4 like Soomin, the show ended April 12th and her contract with JYP was announced on May14th. So we might still have a month before we would know.

She can debut in a group, once their 7-year contract is over and she knows more of the ins and outs of the industry she can move over more into the business side. I could see it.

Funny how Soomin has become far and away my favorite PD101 season 1 trainee when she barely registered on my radar during the actual PD101 broadcast.

Lol, low key me, too. I thought she did fine on all of her parts before and was talented but I watch PD101 now and Soomin gets like 2 seconds of focus or I see her through the crowds of trainees and I am just like "There she is! Our pride and joy!"

A look back to when she was smiley and energetic for 24 hours. She did such a good job even though it wasn't her first pick. She was originally on team Yum Yum, so she probably interacted with Somi there because Somi had become friends with Doyeon and Yoojung through Bang Bang and she was same company as the two. She did such a good job on both Kpopstar and Produce 101. Justice and a good company for Soomin, okay fates?

 

 

 

Also, when she sings it sounds like the biggest scream from the audience. (It could have something to do with the move there, too but still) get it girl

Her only lackluster performance was for The Boys and only vocally, and that's just because she was sick. She delivered on every other performance, whether her teammates always were at their best or not

I feel like Soomin's expression have really never been that bad, it's just that she goes blank when she's nervous and not performing. While performing she always matches whatever song she is in.

Sad it isn't JYP after all this wait, but my main hope was for her to be with a good company, and Loen seems good, so I am satisfied.

I hope her debut comes soon, I hope it is in a group (all these solo debuts for the other girls makes me worried), if Park Soyeon was in it, too, that would be amazing.
