Do you think the girls will go to different companies after the show ends?

This question brought the thread to life imhappyplz.png

I confess i don't know anything about Idolm@ster in Japan, but i do know a bit about the Korean music industry. The girls are definitely contracted under IMX for a while more, to promote the show as it goes on air, and possibly even after. The producer did say he hopes RGP would be able to stay together in future.

I think some of the members still have contracts with their previous companies. Sori almost surely does, since she and Coco keep mentioning CocoSori in their IM@S appearances. Mint is no longer with Tiny-G but she had one solo single, so i'm not sure if that company still has her. Suji & Jane are still with Music K last we heard.

As for the rest, especially the unknowns who auditioned directly and this is their first exp in the industry (Yeeun, Jiwon, Haseo), i hope IMX could renew their contracts for the long-term after seeing how much potential they have. In fact, i hope RGP could become permanent. If not then at least i'm pretty sure other companies will pick up the girls. They're too precious to just fade away rlytearpls.png

What about Red Queen? Do you think they could become an actual permanent group? Or even a one time thing after the show ends? Although probably a bit harder to be promoted using the show than RGP would be. But like Han Hyeri's group hasn't debuted yet, Afterschool has been dead for years, who knows whats going on with 9muses and I feel like i haven't heard from Tahiti in ages. (although I do hope for bops from these groups in the future)

IMO Red Queen is far less likely than RGP to turn permanent. For a few reasons: they're only guest stars on the show, they're made up of senior idols (P101 is a 'senior' show lol) to emphasize the difference between 'established' and 'rookie' groups, there's always been the sense that RQ was meant to be a very limited engagement, and most importantly: going permanent would signal the end for AS, Tahiti and 9M - which would create massive backlash from the fans of those groups.

I believe COCOSORI is under IMX... I think?

RGP would be safe outside of Suji, Jane and Mint since Cocosori are part of IMX.

I never saw anything about this though, do you guys have sources? afaik they're under MOLE Ent (it's on their fb page)

i didn't mean happen like tomorrow. I mean more like when their contracts end (which probably won't be too long away for any of them except Hyeri and Sojin's maybe?) or have them more as a project group for like just a one off once the show ends which would be more likely.

Yeah i think as a project group would be the most likely possibility

Seriously.... one episode a week is too cruel, i can't wait for tomorrow's episode anymore... warstarplz.png i need to know (ep. 4 spoiler)

.... what Youngjoo thinks she's lacking and what she'll do about it.

Honestly, I dont know much about the kpop industry but with the seiyuus in imas cinderella girls come from different companies and they can do stuff outside of imas while still performing at concerts and singing songs.

For example, Ayaka Ohashi who voices Uzuki, she is a part of imas, has a solo career and also voices and performs as Saaya from bang dream.

Maybe the girls from imas.kr can do the same thing since theyre more like acters than actual idols while theyre in imas.kr

Agencies of solo talents aim to get as much work as they can, and this often involves joining projects, so that's why seiyuus have that much freedom. To understand the k-idol industry, think of Morning Musume and AKB48. Momusu's company miiiight let one of their members join a project with AKB, but after it's over, they'd want her to come back and focus on the team's activities.

Similarly, k-pop idol groups demand full-time commitment (more so in the first few years of debut). The RGP members were either trainees or inactive before joining, but none of them were on the actor path (except Yukika, she's a special case). They were aiming to become idol group members. So now if we're talking abt RGP going permanent, it means IMX has to takeover all their previous contracts and sign them exclusively.

I started to follow this project because Jane and Suji as well, but during the process I felt for the girls. Especially Haseo and Jiwon (Jiseul is earning my love too). At the end I ended up loving RGP. Because the fact that this group is the second chance of every single girl... I think this project is beautiful. I called out The Ark /salty/ fans. Of course a received shade back. They told me they can say whatever they want and so on. Makes me sad the fact that some fans left them aside because they are into "cute concept" buuuuut to be very honest, these """fans""" were there because The Ark was called the female BTS. But... Thank God they already left. It was annoying to deal with them.

Where were these fans posting? In this thread, or Twitter or somewhere else?

Just finished episode 5. Reactions later, too busy rlytearpls.png

Also, just ignore the ark fans who were only really there for Suji and Jane and are annoyed w/ how the show is going bc they fake lmao as a lowkey fan of them both from their the ark days, I'm (and most of the "real" fans of them) are just glad they weren't sent to the basement of some company to train again for however long, if they were lucky. With known girls in these kinds of groups, it can be difficult, but just do your best to ignore them and enjoy the show + group for what they are!

Yes Instagram mostly but I find YT comments waaaay more annoying. All they commented was: "eww Jane and Suji deserves better", "I hate cute concepts", "The Ark died for this?" It took a lot hard work make them understand The Ark and RGP are different teams. XD

I've not seen this sort of comment in recent videos, so i think that breed of fan has stopped coming, thankfully. So it's in the past now, the show has gained its own momentum, its own following who don't have preconceived expectations, and lots of curious new viewers. ilikeitplz.png

I've asked ethereal (the OP) and she's fine with giving away the OP.

I'd prefer someone who has Amazon Prime to be the OP. Just cos. lol

+ members/actresses/characters details

+ episode links

+ discography

Is this mashing too much with RGP thread

0u0plz.png

I nominate s4a for new OP

Also, i propose retiring the RGP and Red Queen threads in favour of consolidating everything [email protected] related in this thread. It's not like there's already too much content here or anything laugh.png

Episode links might be hard/dangerous

I can't process what I just watched...

Sori and Yeeun broke my brain by sharing it. lmao

My god... the amount of work this must have taken.... fD4JAZe.png

I can't be op. Anyone else want to take it over? Preferably someone who can create a nice design for the group/drama since it will be on until October

Sent from my LG-VS985 using Tapatalk

Ooooookaaaaaayyyy........ I could be OP if no one else will, but caveat emptor i have zero design skills, so the OP will be information-heavy but aesthetic-light, unless someone can volunteer to create the graphics for me.

the viewers commenting and demanding Suah while the Debut team were performing are dumb, like haven't they ever heard of a twin? It shouldn't be that surprising to learn that Suji is Suah's twin.

Yeah, and we all know netizens esp k-netizens IRL aren't as childish and demanding as that imstupid.png too unrealistic man

LOl, no one else was jumping up and down asking for it...  save one DreamChazr who typed...

'Ooooookaaaaaayyyy........ I could be OP if no one else will.. '  smile.png   Hence my congrats...

I'm also game for it...  but like your caveat emptor...  this will be a first for me... and my skills is no where close to be on the same plane as Delphine...  if one had to compare, I'd be in a place where the sun don't shine...

If you couldn't tell though, i'm actually a bit reluctant due to my lack of design skills......laugh.png

*scanning for more*

I give up. Boygroups aren't my forte.

Did they replace some songs in the Amazon ver of the drama lol

Yup they did, i just noticed as well. No wonder sometimes their dancing didn't match the music that was playing and the song choices in the subs.

Like someone said before, either it's to promote the original [email protected] music, or they have licensing issues with certain songs internationally / in America. Guess which ones? SM - SNSD - Tell Me Your Wish & YG - 2NE1 - Fire. Damn these 2 companies souleyesplz.png

Oh god i'm getting sad thinking about the fact that this week our journey ends. It almost makes me reluctant to watch the last episode! Almost.

Best idol drama ever and one of the best dramas i've had the pleasure of watching, ever. rlytearpls.png

Also, I didn't realise that Haseo has debuted before. Since she's gonna be on the unit, was she a solo artist or in a group or what?

I think her membership in RGP counts as a formal debut since RGP promotes like a regular group and will at least carry on for some time after the drama. Same goes for Yukika (in Korea) and Yeeun.

I came back here just to share a super random thing i saw today about one of our Idolmaster.KR / RGP girls

A scene from the dystopian Netflix series 'Squid Game' / Courtesy of Netflix

Apparently, Youngjoo's a writer now! She just co-authored a book about the Korean film industry, read more about it in the link:
