Too lazy to backtrack to see if this was posted. Our girls pounding the pavement promoting the show in April.

Um.. someone help give me materials for the new op please. Group pics, individual pics, actor & character info, stuff...

Lemme check the current OP. I can't remember what it looks like. I've been collecting photos so I can send you some stuff.

Edit: Looks sparse so I will check my archives, lol.

Edit 2: Here's some before I fall asleep. I can crop them if you need me to.

I'm starting to catch up. Episodes 6 & 7 thoughts:

Ep 6

- Love the endurance contest between the girls. I knew Marathoner Suji wasn't going to lose this.

- Youngjoo went from Bitch to Mega Bitch to Ultra Bitch in one episode and I loved it! It's hard to watch her be so mean to her teammates, but she's so damn good in this role.

- It was interesting the way Producer-san responded when Youngjoo asked if she was doing something wrong by shoving the Rookie Team down into the basement. "It's the right decision if you want to win, but we'll have to see if it's a good decision." Nice foreshadowing.

Ep 7

- Jiseul's story was so tear jerking and really brings the show down to earth. She's such a sympathetic character, but I have mixed feelings about her situation. It's terrible that she has to take care of her brother and sister and is working several part time jobs, but she's also holding her team back. They're giving 100% while she continues to bail on practice. Jiseul couldn't even text Suji to say she'd be a little late when they went out of their way to switch the time to accommodate her. I understand that she's ashamed and it's very hard to confide in people, but she should realize her team can fail because of her.

- One character is revealed to have an eating disorder while another ends up in the Hospital. Heavy stuff fD4JAZe.png

- Is it normal in South Korea for people to come in a work someone's shift if they're not an employee? One thing I realized when Suji and Yeeun were working at the restaurant was that they never properly made up after Yeeun's outburst. I like that there was sort of an unspoken apology from Yeeun  and that everything is okay between her and Suji.

- I like how in every episode the team members are helping out each other more and more. In this episode, Suji tried to help Taeri and Sora made Jiseul breakfast. You can tell deep down that they all want to be friends. Youngjoo is the one who drove them apart.

- Yukika: "Oh, great, my favorite thing. More practice!", LOL!

Return of the Cheer Up dance cover. I wonder if it will actually be used in the drama...

Just watched this on the Tube. Rookie Team's turn to go to the park and do some choreo with the sun behind them XD I don't know if they did this on their own or they have a director with them, but that's the worst possible angle to shoot from. Oh, and Mint went really overboard with the ripped jeans, lol.

Catching up with the show. Not much to say about Ep. 8 other than that is was fantastic! A few thoughts all the same.

I never expected Jinsoul to play such a big part in this show, but she was the lynch pin that brought the team together. So nice to see her smiling nowsmile.png

I really need more uncomfortable scenes between Producer-san and the CEO. They're such interesting characters. Kang is very enigmatic while Shim is eccentric. What a great odd couple laugh.png

I wish the survival competition wasn't going to last the entire season, but that seems like the case. I want to see them debut and go on music shows, variety shows, and challenge Red Queen. I wish we could get a second season to see all that.

Does anyone know if Suji will continue to go by this name moving forward? I only ask because I wanted to see if I could get the name of her badge updated.

There are some rumours about the members renewing contract under idolmaster brand but not as RGP. I think they will be given a name later, like Cinderella Girls and Star! units. But there is also a possibility of a second round for a season two, but with new trainees.

Those are blogs entries of course, but if I ever read some official article I'll be trying to translate ã… ã… ã…

This would be great if they're committed to expanding the Idolmaster brand internationally. Give us more concerts, songs, and especially a Season 2!

I haven't been to the thread much since I've been so behind on the show. Up to Ep. 11 now so hopefully I'll be caught up by next week. Quick thoughts on Ep. 9, 10, & 11.

Ep. 9

I really like that they focused so much on Producer Kang in this one. The episodes with Jiseul were so intense that they really needed to change things up and give the girls a break. I love Kang's trials while trying to get the song and the shadow of Suah surfaces again which continues to add intrigue.

Ep. 10

Just when I was ready to finally see some spooning action between Mint and Jiseul, Mint's Mother comes to ruin it, lol. Jeez, that English scene between Mint's Mother and Kang was just painful (>.<) I really liked Jane's brief arc that was set up in the previous episode. It just continues the theme of the deepening divide between Youngjoo and the rest of her team.

Ep. 11

More awkward scenes with Kang and Shim! Keep them coming laugh.png Glad they decided not to use more English during the scene with Kang and Mint's Mother although it's strange that she suddenly understands Korean 5cF9Biq.png Unless she was pretending and knows it better than she let on.

Youngjoo is so slick. After berating her team for weeks, suddenly she's so nice and understanding because she's so close to debuting and will say anything to keep her team from breaking up. I'm surprised it hasn't been found out that she didn't write the lyrics herself which gets them disqualified.

All in all, these episodes were enjoyable, but I kind of feel like they reached a peak with the 2 that focused on Jiseul. Now we're slowly going back down before ramping things up again. This looks to be happening quickly with Taeri going to the Hospital at the end of 11.

I forgot that they're having a real comeback next month ahmagahplz.png They all look so good in the Teasers. Yeeun and Sori look great in dark hair. I almost didn't recognize them.

Solid performance on MuBank. They have so much personality when they're on stage and the song is great, of course.

Some fancams of their arrival.

Loved absolutely everything about Ping Pong Game! The song, the styling, the sets, the props, it all came together beautifully. I was seriously shook! la.gif They completely nailed the video game concept too which is hard to do.

Yeah she's always been the leader in the drama but I never thought she fit the role. And whenever I would see RGP doing interviews or whatever, she still doesn't give me leader vibes, idk who the real leader of RGP is but if it's her I would be surprised, not as a bad thing though

Sori is the leader acording to some profiles. I think it makes sense since its usually the oldest member. I dont think Youngjoo ever aspired for leader position or that she would actually like it.

I see it like this. Within the story of the show, at the beginning, Youngjoo is the leader of the Debut Team. She's been a trainee longer than any of the other girls and they look up to her because she's considered the best. They're even a little bit in awe of her talent. After the competition starts, Youngjoo begins to show her true colors and Sori, who already had a Mother Hen role with the other members, slowly becomes the true leader of the group. She stands up to Youngjoo and defends the other team members on multiple occasions and calls her out for who she truly is. Jane does this to a certain extant, but not quite as much as Sori.

Really it's simpler than that. Suji is the leader of the Rookie Team. Youngjoo is the leader of the Debut team. It makes more sense dramatically since those are the two leads but we, the audience, know that Sori is the backbone of the Debut team and Yeeun gets everything done for the Rookie Team.

You could put it this way too, lol. I would only add that Suji is the "Idea Girl" and comes up with the concepts.

Mint is going on The Unit? it'd be interesting to see how she does

I guess she's done with IMX. So if RGP still have some performances in the future, she won't be there.

No question. I know she was one of the members of RGP who wasn't either signed to IMX or a free agent so I can't say I'm surprised she made the jump to the Unt.

Must have been a relatively recent decision as she still participated in the Japanese showcase last month. Who is left that's in limbo in terms of where they are signed?

I remember a while ago it came up that Mint might not sign a new contract, so it's good to get an update. I hope she can get some kind exposure on the Unit, but with the way the show is turning out, it's going to be tough. Good luck to her smile.png

I love this show so much! It just keeps getting better and better la.gif I wish I had kept up with the thread more, but I fell behind again and wanted to avoid any potential spoilers, even Teasers that got posted. I've been backtracking and it's interesting reading people's predictions knowing how things actually turned out.

I won't go into detail, but I thought they handled Taeri's exit well and it played into Youngjoo's comeuppance perfectly.

I really liked the Xmas episode as a whole. It gave the girls a break from all the craziness and having them do Secret Santas was cute. It was nice that they haven't forgotten about Jiseul's issues with created tension with Mint (as well as later when she gets mad because her sister is working at a car wash). Little things like this really add to the show. I'm glad that Suji and Youngjoo have made peace are officially friends now, but they just couldn't resist an opportunity to have Suji cry.

Like allot of people, I thought Jeewon was going to help Yeeun in someway and redeem herself. Oh boy, were we in for a surprise when she turned out to be a mega bitch laugh.png It's interesting how they split the season so Youngjoo gets her comeuppance half way through and mellows out only to bring in a girl who is even worse than she was. Maybe this is common in KDramas.

I was a little annoyed that Sori got to be leader only to show that she wasn't right for the job and that Youngjoo was their true leader after all. It felt a little too contrived and I never got the impression that Sori was that much of a pushover. Oh well, it's necessary for the story to progress.

Am I alone, or is Haseo the most underutilized character on the show? Most of the time it feels like she's just sort of there. They briefly touched on her back story in one episode and only recently did they add another brief detail. They made a point to bring up the cosplaying thing early in the season and then did nothing with it. You could make a case for Yukika, but she's so bubbly and over the top that she always stands out and ends up getting some of the best lines in allot of episodes.

Mintty has indeed joined to The Unit but I can almost say it's for purely promotion. She planned a soloist comeback for next year so it's probable for it. In the other hand, the girls will be always part of RGP, not just as a sentimental feeling but because that's their spot no matter what. It's been said they are not a official girlgroup but a project girlgroup, just like I.O.I was. The difference is all the girls can promote whenever they want and if they want. The important point here is IMX owns RGP name, but the girls are part of the idolmaster brand, easily as it is... they can switch places once in while, they will have a comeback as four, as three, as seven by time. It's like having a reserve of members(?) All the girls have their own projects ahead. Jeewon wants to enter into the Musicals world and Jiseul said she wants to keep acting and The Ark's members seems to keep giving glances about a reunion, while Kika is going back to Japan at some point. I don't know if I explained my self^^' but it's not that RGP is disbanding, it is that the project has been on for a while and they need to go back to work on what they want.

This makes sense. I wasn't quite sure how IMX planned to continue the RGP brand. I like that the girls are free to pursue other activities and that it's a rotating roster. I just wish we could get another Drama with the same cast, even if it's not related to Idolmaster ohdearplz.png

I have a question since i don't follow the show, I plan to get prime for a month and binge watch... Why are the member's featured in Ping Pong the only ones performing? But when b-side was released it had jiseul and no suji? I'm confunsed... Sorry

The members of the Unit rotate so they can swap them in and out as needed. The Unit was originally called b-side, but if I remember correctly, they decided to push the RGP brand for Ping Pong and other releases moving forward.

Real Girls Project Coco, Haseo, Mint, and Suji are reportedly joining KBS Idol Rebooting program 'The Unit'

http://entertain.naver.com/read?oid=108&aid=0002646277

they should just give Suji the trophy now tbh

Just saw this posted in the Unit thread. I know who I'm rooting for. I just hope the audition process isn't too much of a mess and they can make it onto the show.
