because while she had a rabid fanbase when she was a teen artists there, she had hoards of haters who thought she was undeserving to be a celeb. by hoards i meant there were a lot, especially people from middle-upper class of society back then (sandara appealed more to the masses). the hater-fan ratio was pretty close. i even remember her fans were very protective of her because of all the bashing she got.....

i just find it funny since a good number of filipino k-pop fans belong to middle-upper class of society (k-pop is a pretty expensive hobby especially with concerts and merchandise) are the same ones claiming they've loved her ever since but it was pretty much the same demographic that bashed her to death during her peak as a teen star.

all of a sudden now she's this star everyone claims they've loved ever since  :derp: this is not the history i remember....

2009 was long time ago. (It's 2016 now, 7 years difference)

So maybe when they said "they've loved ever since" maybe its back 09 since its way way back

the 'love' for her only started around 2ne1's debut

usually by 'ever since' it's pretty much implied they loved her since her teen star days

lmao back then she was so hated

this tweet even says 'sandara is no longer jologs' so her debuting in 2ne1 definitely had an impact on people's perception of her

What does it mean?

But yeah, when she debuted in 2NE1 her career in the Philippines was pretty much over, that's one of the reasons why she came back to Korea in the first place. What happened to Dara is a common phenomenon though, if someone from a small country in Europe became hugely popular in the United Kingdom or the United States, I'm sure their success would spark a similar reaction. Okay, Dara's Korean and she could barely speak Tagalog when she first went to the Philippines but, by the time she went back to Korea, she probably spoke Tagalog much more fluently than her native language. lol

bruh it's been so long, they're obviously not the same people so the attitudes and values of the same demographic changed

the past-haters probably don't even care about Kpop, the middle class has grown bigger in the past 5 years even, the new middle class probably contain those fans who were masses at the time

She was at her peak when she decided to leave for 6 months to train at YG, when she came back she had a decline, even her management company gave up on her so she decided to go back to Korea when her contract ended. She still have lots of loyal fans but not as much as she used to. She also gained new fans when she debuted as 2ne1.

Probably the people that bashed her before were fans of the other contestants at SCQ. Since they don't compete anymore, some of those hater may have become a fan of her or 2ne1's music?

Sandara at SCQ had been upgraded and became the Dara of 2ne1. Way better than she used to, though still a Krung2x.
