Would you eat Surströmming? (The world's smelliest food) Have you eaten it before?

Wonder.

Surströmming (pronounced [ˈsʉ̟ËˌʂʈrÅ“mËɪŋ]Swedish for "sour herring") is fermented Baltic Sea herring that has been a staple of traditional northern Swedish cuisine since at least the 16th century.

When opened, the contents release a strong and sometimes overwhelming odour; the dish is ordinarily eaten outdoors. According to a Japanese study, a newly opened can of surströmming has one of the most putrid food smells in the world, even more so than similarly fermented fish dishes such as the Korean Hongeohoe or Japanese Kusaya.[1]

It doesn't smell bad to me, but then again I can barely smell anything. It doesn't taste so bad that you want to throw up but I wouldn't eat it again. I've eaten worse things.

The smell of Surströmming is literally what I imagine death smells like.
