"Applause" was great, though very cheesy. Regardless, still great.

"Do What U Want" is easily the best song on her album (and her best single in forever), though her dancing/movements were soooo embarrassing. Still, the vocals and R. Kelly combo gave it a fun, cliché feeling.

"Gypsy" is a horrendous song and she fell flat in some parts. Then the chorus kicks in and it all went wrong. The song is very Elton John-esque and I always expected to hear her perform it on a piano, but it sounds a bit too similar to her other rock ballads like Speechless and Dope when stripped like this. Still, great vocals for the most part. Her problem has never been her talent.

I feel like lady gaga fans have this chip implanted in their brain (probs from listening to much born this way) that over blows everything lady gaga does as "AMAZING, STUNNING, PERFECT" etc.

I think i mentioned this once on here before but...

 

After seeing "Applause" performed at the VMAs.... I became quite a fan of the song....and I really appreciate her lives of it. The are fantastic, the SNL segment for it was thoroughly entertaining. Great vocals on it. Especially the end bit.

 

Sadly, her performances of anything else on Artpop, invoke such strong feelings of residual embarrassment... that they have not had the same VMA effect on me... actually, quite the opposite.
