I did some research on the producers of this album I didn't know too much about and dug up more info on the ones i did know of ( BLACK EYED PILSEUNG) and I think it's going to be H Y P E AF. Sorry if this is all already on your radar, just thought i'd share what I found with my once chingus. CHEER UP Black Eyed Pilseung I couldn't be more stoked about them working on the title track again. Choi Kysung and Rado, the producer/composer/serious hit maker duo were the geniuses behind Ohh Ahh, which imo was the best song of 2015. They're back to take a crack at the title track... lol sorry. They're relatively new players on the scene but managed to win Gaon Charts Composer of the Year for 2015, (again thanks, Ohh Ahh) beating out all the other producers who churned out some real bangers last year. Before they were Black Eyed Pilseung, they were longtime Shinsadong Tiger collaborators and helped create many hits you know and love. Rado worked with the team that produced 4Minute's Volume Up and Choi Kysung's worked with the team responsible for the legendary *gasp* Bubble Pop by kween Hyuna. Yes, these dudes know how make some bangers. Anyway, here are my fave BEP hits. Miss A "Only You" Got7 "If You Do" - - Jackson is so fine in this vid Precious Love aww J.Y.Park y'all know him, his genius, and his pants. As you can see, i am so very excited about this. She’s so young and she already has a writing credit to her name. Chaeyoungie is a force and she’s going to do great things for KPOP. Hong Ji Sang If there is a song by a JYP artist you like, there’s a great chance that this dude had something to do with it. From what I’ve gathered, he’s pretty much #2 at JYP after JYP himself and is responsible for these songs: Sunmi "24 Hours" Got7 "Stop Stop It" feat bb Twice TOUCHDOWN Chrissie, Nicki, and lol Karl Karlsson We all know that the big agencies are smart and import songs from Scandinavian producers because they are the absolute best at making pop music (hello, Robyn). But this is not it. I couldn't find much on the elusive Karlssons themselves (are they siblings?! What's going on?!) but I managed to find a couple compilations on the EMI production music website with some of their work. I'm sad to say but this, but I was a little let down. I did enjoy the buzzy, heavy synth driven tracks but tI felt like the songs lacked invention, excitement, sounded the same, etc. Whatever, I still have hopes and it's always awesome to see female producers doin stuff. I also think it's rad af when siblings work together creatively (Haim!). I'm not Korean so I couldn't dig up too much on her either, but I found that she is a writer for quite a few songs for SNSD. She wrote TTS's Whisper, SNSD's Catch Me If You Can, and, more recently, Taeyeon's I (and Gemini and Stress). She also wrote Teen Top's Warning Sign and a bunch of other things I don't feel like listing. She's good, so we're good. Tukhamyeon Tok (íˆí•˜ë©´ 톡) Choi Jin-Suk Head of Dsign Music Asia/KK Publishing, Choi Jin-Suk is probably the most impressive name on the list. He wrote Truth for The Story Begins! Ah, i'm so excited for this track. Anyway, he's the real deal with a ridiculous amount of incredible songs under his belt. Anyway, I didn't find anything new, but saw that he worked on these songs: J. Ovanni "Stand Up" - Leanne Dlamini "No Sweat" - Emmanuel Jimenez aka Manny He is also listed at Loudbox Records' as their chief producer and engineer. I am SO SO SO SO STOKED about his involvement because I LOVE LOVE LOVE hip-hop and I am a fan of Mc Lyte. He produced pretty much all of MC Lyte's Legend album from 2015 and the production is great. Ahhh, I can't wait to hear this track. MC Lyte "Ball" Stacy Herbert aka STAYC REIGN listed as one of the two musicians on the Loudbox Records artists page. I found a buncha old Youtube vids of her singing from 6 years ago and I guess she worked on a flop with Flo-Rida like 3 years ago. Anyway, I found an MV of hers. The song isn't bad. The video is boring, tho. Stayc Reign "Empty Room" WOOHOO The Face of Honor - Truth aka Glory Face no joke. I couldn't really find much on this guy. Maybe because he goes by friggin "The Face of Honor" gtfo with that. Anyway, I did see him credited as a composer and producer for some Girl's Day tracks; With Me and Macaron. That's all I got. FRANTS Another yung JYP resident creator. I've been following this guy on ig for a while because I'm such a big fan of Wonder Girls. I sat through a boring ass vid of him sitting on the couch in the studio, shoothing the ish with Yenny. The things you do for your biases, amirite?! ILY YENNY. Anyway, he looked like a legit "Up Tha Punx" type mf and I thought, "what is this DIY lookin dude doing writing pop songs? PUNK IS DAD!" Then I found out that he composed and produced a lot of great songs and he also djs and does sick remixes of Got7 albums. I also discovered that he was in a sh*tty pop punk band with a questionable name in the mid-2000s and I thought that was kinda cool because I played in punk bands AND I love kpop, too! UPDATE I also realized that I forgot about the husband and wife duo, The Vanderveers, who worked on I'm Gonna Be A Star. Bruce "Automatic" Vanderveer is producer and songwriter for SONY, a CEO for a couple of independent labels. and has worked with Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Cher, and Nicole Scherzinger. and that's pretty impressive!
