Article: 'Mozart' reps, "Lee Soo confirmed to leave... we apologize for concerning you"

Source: X Sports News via Naver

1. [+8,319, -862] Just hold a concert. Then the fans who actually want to see you can attend that concert. Why would he think he could do a musical when sex offenders in real life aren't allowed back at work?

2. [+6,034, -714] Casting directors need to be more careful with who they cast

3. [+5,080, -433] It's not only celebrities who are bound by the actions of their past and lose opportunities... the rest of us have to deal with the consequences of our actions as well. Lee Soo does not belong in a musical that kids are allowed to watch. He should've known that... He should look for other opportunities.

4. [+5,592, -796] He brought this upon himself. Maybe one day when he has a daughter of his own he'll realize what he did.

5. [+4,767, -539] Nothing he can do about it. He committed a crime, now pay the price.

6. [+1,361, -95] EMK was foolish to think that people would pay several hundreds of dollars to watch a sex offender sing as Mozart ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

7. [+1,239, -83] At least celebrities have a chance at coming back after they reflect. Commoners get fired and lose any chance of employment and are stuck with divorces or becoming homeless and working labor jobs for the rest of their lives. Lee Soo probably has tons of royalties still feeding him too and his wife still works.

8. [+993, -43] A famous English soccer player named Adam Johnson screwed his life over with prostitution of a minor. There's no forgiveness when it comes to a crime like that.

I know I might get negged. The general emotion/Opinion of the OH community is rather against him. I am aware of his wrong doings. But he is REALLY trying to make a living. He has a wife and a family to run.

It is a musical where people see more on talent than past of the actor/actress. For me, it is quite sad that people are so critical and is not willing to give a second chance. What would make things better for him to make a living? Will serving in jail help public forgive him?

I respect your opinion but I'm totally with the musical fans that petitioned against his casting. Would you want a great play that you enjoy/look forward to watching be tainted by casting a man who's name is attached to "underage prostitution"? It's like he is using this as a stepping stone. If his casting pushed through, soon he would be appearing on other shows as well. It gives the message that Koreans are too lenient with people like him a.k.a sex offenders

Hell nah

In this musical he will work with a child actor to play a younger mozart. This bastard is a pedophile, i dont feel any sympathy for him at all.

Then what about the murderer who is on national TV? Many people are promoting by getting away with the pretence of "I didn't really know about THAT crime". I am not saying EVERYONE should be forgiven. The circle of crime starts from here. When people don't give a chance to criminal to make a living and make themselves a better human being.

It's like you're contradicting your words. You said you want to give Lee Soo a chance and yet you also do not want criminals to appear on public stages?? Tbh with the backlash that he is receiving rn, he should just live a quiet and normal life--for the sake of Lyn, her family, and his family as well.

I normally agree but participating in the sexual exploitation of a minor is a very grave crime. The girl was likely 14/15 when she was being pimped out. I see no justification for a grown man buying an obviously young women. There's dozens of other ways to pick up willing grown women.

I never said I don't want criminal stage to appear on public stage. I am highlighting the criminal promoting on public. I am just saying he should be given a means of living at least to support his family.

lots of average joe jobs available for him or as comment #1said that he could hold a concert, where fans who actually want to see him can attend that concert.

he's got plenty of means though. he can go out and get a normal non-showbiz job if he's so desperate, like everyone else. the public isn't obliged to do charity for sex offenders by letting them back on stage as if nothing happened

it might seem harsh but this is part of his punishment and I can understand why musical fans don't want him to get the reward of being cast in such a prestigious musical despite what he did. it teaches us that it doesn't matter what crime you commit so long as you're famous enough for people to overlook it... so it's great imo that people are taking a stand this time instead of letting it go by unnoticed.

Then he should go work somewhere hidden from the public view, he is undeserving of being put on such a pedastal to be admired by the masses. Why should the public place him on a platform that essentially rubs salt into the wounds of the victims?

I was merely talking about giving him a second chance to make a living. This is why I asked, will public give him a 2nd chance to make himself a better human being if he served? It is a hypothetical question.

Hmm.. I can see that now that you put it that way.

You truly can't be that stupid to not have the idea of him getting a regular job not in the public eye as an option pop in your mind before you typed that.

You think it is sad people aren't giving him a second chance? I think it is sad a teenaged girl was prostitutued out. You are fucked up. Die, tbh.

And you are telling me to die? Okay. I will go and kill myself now.

Guys, I am really sorry.

I was just trying to see how people responded if I had put that statement out. I am on the same page as you are. I had the same/similar argument with a friend about the sexual offender. He presented the same argument to me about a celebrity and I was not quite sure how to respond to him. I had no words to respond to his stance. There were more stuffs to his argument which is quite irrelevant to this situation so I left out.

Thank you.

there's no need to apologise - forums are for discussion and exchange of thoughts and views after all, nothing wrong with changing your mind or trying to find out how other people see things
