darkishreality 227
TAKE DOWN NOTES. i cannot stress this enough. take down as many notes as you can, and pay attention to every lecture. try not to procrastinate because you will suffer soon enough. (think snowball effect : you doubts will snowball if you do not clarify or revise after everyday) try to make some friends too. you don't have to get close to them, but they'll be useful for you if you had to miss class and stuff. also sitting at the first few rows will be beneficial too since you wouldn't lose your focus too easily
SMBear 3
Not really, you'll probably freak out a lot and be stressed. I hope everything works out for you in the end though. Just try to balance your life as much as possible i guess, have a healthy diet and life in general and don't forget your hobbies.

night vale. 8,071
Getting into college: -Write a convincing essay(s). All of the entrance essay questions that will ever be asked in life have a ton of examples on the web. Just google them! -SCHOLARSHIPS!!! Find SOMETHING. I made this mistake in high school and ended up having to take out a loan in my first semester of school. -proofread your documents! While in college: Go to fucking class. There is no excuse not to. You're either paying hundreds for a single class or someone is paying for you, so you don't want to fuck up and fail. There will be days where you go "I don't feel like it" and that is perfectly fine. But don't make it a habit and don't start with that attitude early on in your semester. Read the syllabus for each class. Your life will be a lot easier. Your professors will be there to support you, not bite your head off. Ask questions when you need to. Them knowing your name and face will help you in the long run. IMPORTANT: Do NOT pick a major solely based on what will make you a lot of money/make you "employable." Most of the time, those type of classes quickly become tiring and you will hate yourself for it (personal experience with this). Do something that you will enjoy; you will start to notice that you can find a variety of jobs based off of what you're interested in.
asutra 2,670
Never hesitate to participate in any activities/event you want and don't just follow your friend. Friends come and go but experience is very important later on. Manage the schedule faster so you can grab non morning class lol. Don't just only study ^^

╯SHIwol╰ 2,348
Study... Don't procrastinate... Study again... College =/= sane If you are a good at time management you can probably have fun once in awhile... But don't forget to Study.... I experienced my first failure in college lol even being an above average student in high school. Everything has reset so no matter what you are in high school, doesn't mean you'll still be like that in college. Also, I suggest going to unis that specializes your program tbh. Also a uni that offers both your 1st and second choice. so it'll be easier if by any chance you decided to shift (if you want your 3rd choice too, just in case)

bemybaymax 605
You dont have to befriend with everyone, 2-3 is enough Choose something that will make you happy after graduation Going to class and taking down notes always +1 The first year most people lazed around bc they thought they deserved a little break after all the exams and all but they failed half of the subjects so dont think itll be like a vacation at freshman year Its my senior year and honestly time flew too fast, I'll be graduating in 3 months and I have no idea what to do afterwards. So take your time and enjoy your life as a student while you can ><
cherrrypie 311
Enjoy yourself! University was the best time of my life so far - working and being a real adult is much harder. Study, but more importantly: make friends, go out and have fun, join clubs/extracurriculars that interest you, do what you like to do! You'll never have so much free time ever again until you retire
1syankar5 682
stay on track for your classes, if there is one chapter to read for that week, read it before lecture and then take down notes during class. trust me, it will be a lot easier to study for exams and you wont fall behind. dont leave essays/projects/assignments to the last minute (i did that before, several times, complete nightmare each time, writing a 12 page paper 2 days before the due date is not fun) if you have questions dont be afraid to ask your TAs or profs, if you are too shy to go up to them you can usually just email them instead. take classes that you enjoy, i took 2 econ classes in my first year, absolutely hated both and failed both. but if you enjoy what you're reading it will be a lot easier. best of luck to you! 93_L 75
Choose a major that is of your interest or something that you can handle for like 3/4 years of studies in university. As for friends, having just 2-3 close friends are more than enough since in a large group of friends, there will be some kind of fight and divided by the time you reach your final year. Once you're close to your final year, prepare your proposals early. There are tons of journals and articles to read and choose for your reference. Not to mention that it is possible for your proposal/thesis to be rejected a few times for correction so prepare early for that. As for assignment, do not plagiarize. Some lecturers are really strict on that.
Lizzo 4,159
for applying to college, if you want to get distinguish yourself (if you're applying to ivies or the higher ranked schools), partake in ECs that are unique and that are meaningful for you. Joining your school's business club for example won't make you stand out unless you're the president or on the Eboard. Take initiative, i cannot stress this enough and write about these passions in your essay.
