He was actually one of my fave singers during the 'soloists' era in kpop years back around 2006, here was a Music Core perf he did with a song i loved called osoyo im sure this song will be familiar to many people who were in kpop back then (like me lol)

Dean, Crush, Zion T etc - while it's not yet completely a soloist era it's a start and already makes the scene much better for soloists now

 

at some point i believe the tide will turn again just like how it did in the early 2000s

Dean Crush and Zion T are only 3 people. And  of them only Zion T can be legitimately called a roaring success.

Crush does decently and Dean's just barely stepping in the door.

but like i said it's a start 

 

also the fact that solo songs are starting to gain traction with the gp lately especially ballads it's only gonna lead to it becoming more common

 

sure soloists from idol groups may spearhead it but that's exactly how the solo era back then started too (kangta, shin hye sung, taebin, eugene, bada, ock joo hyun simultaneously releasing solo stuff)

It's been 6 years since he stopped being active and he even got married in the meantime, I don't see him blowing up again any time soon (or at all), which is unfortunate cause I think he was pretty good

 

also, he's 32??? where did the time go, I remember that song of his from the 1litre of tears soundtrack that I really loved, that was such a long time ago it seems it was in another life

he's been active post military service and his wedding but in japan, wikipedia's quite wrong lol. the first video was actually filmed just weeks ago and he's been on tv shows/doing the kitkat promo last year and he also released a single not too long ago...he's been focusing on music
