who else here thinks SVT will be a super kpop boy group a year or two from now?

  • they have their own distinct music style as long as they keep doing it they will be identified with it and it's public friendly so as long as they remain consistent they will gain the gp
  • their international fandom is growing massive by the minute
  • only a few kpop groups can match their stage presence - im not saying this to shade other groups. sure other groups have visuals and slick high budget stages but SVT legit look like they enjoy performing and it's contagious to anyone who watches
  • well rounded members - good singers, good dancers, visuals, actors
  • they've covered the major languages needed for expansion - english & chinese - tho would have been more perfect if there was a member who's fluent in japanese

i know their priority atm is the korean fandom/audience but i really would like it if they establish themselves really well with international fans (i really feel there can come a time where their career trajectory will be similar to bts) because lbh, this means more opportunity for them not only as a group but as individuals

they really do have the potential (heck I am slayed by them and I don't even like boy groups)

but if Pledis can fuck up Nuest who had one of the biggest debuts in kpop and Hello Venus who were bigger than AOA at one point, I would watch out

stan hello venus btw

it's hard to say since the industry can be pretty unpredictable (well aside from big3) but we can hope for the best

the landscape has been massively changing lately tho and i really find it interesting that groups from smaller, newer companies are actually capable of gaining attention now

trust me when i say this - i've been into kpop since baby vox

They have a pretty good fandom size for rookies and it will keep increasing tbh. If they improve their digitals then they will slay hard! But then again, they are in Pledis and Pledis has managed to fuck up After School (stan them), Hello Venus (stan them also) and NUEST, who all had mad potential. So lets keep our fingers crossed  :._.:

i think ur forgetting that they are under pledis and pledis is one of the worst management companies ever.  they had nu'est, who had a more successful debut than exo-k, they had hello venus, who had a lot of potential/hype, not to mention they had after school who was legitimately 100% successful, orange caramel who is their most popular act atm and pledis isn't even doing anything..  pledis is worse than jyp when it comes to fucking over groups.  seventeen has everything except the right kind of management, which is honestly the most important part in a lot of ways.

they could very well be quite popular in a year or two. BUT (and this is a very important 'BUT') they are under Pledis.  And Pledis ALWAYS manages to fuck up their artists' popularity/hype.  Let's hope they do right by Seventeen.

They just lost rich chinese fansites recently that can buy 100~300 albums for each fansigns. And international fans generally doesnt stay loyal most them are just bandwagoners and some didn't care to download Melon or buy physical album. I love the loyal fans tho :)

YES AGREE ALL ABOVE ^^^

Your wish coming true. On second half this year around August they said seventeen going to have fanmeeting at Manilla, Bangkok, Singapore and Jakarta. So start saving now

Im conflicted. I want them to build strong korean fandom first. They need their first win music show, first CF, first variety show spot, first acting gig but so far they only had first concert in korea. Im actually against them going international first because their kfandom is not even that strong yet. Many fans i see not treating 17 like ultimate bias more like sideline but im thankful for anyone who likes them. I guess fans scared about a lot of things including the fact they under Pledis. But i guess its unavoidable since Pledis need to squeeze seventeen as much money they can get by going international quickly to pay pledis stupid remaining debt and also fund for ladyteen future debut

I hope so, they are my favorite out of the rookie groups.

Seventeen have everything you need in a group to be successful. They have visuals, they have stan attractors, good music and good chore. They also have something that sets them apart from the herd which is that they are self produced.

I just hope their management doesn't eff them up.
